Constant Whining noise from engine bay!

So I just encountered the problem this morning. Started the car at work, warmed it up, and drove it home. Once i came home I heard a whining noise in the engine bay and it sounds like its coming from the front of the engine where the belts are. I've had my belts changed 2yrs ago. Did anyone encounter this problem and that can show me ways in fixing it? I've checked on the forum and people says it can be the "Tranny" but I don't want to resort to that route.

Any suggestions?

Update: I found this video clip on youtube. I hope it would help.

alternator going out?

I've isolated the sound and its more towards the driver side behind the fans. Any other ideas?

Comment on the video says it stopped when he changed his oil. My car is making the same noise and I'm due for a change. We will see.

oils been changed recently... People are suggesting the pulleys so I am going to try that out too.

idler pulley can cause belts to whine - also they may just need to be tightened a little...

to test the pully you can remove the belt and spin it by hand. You will hear/feel the ball bearings if it is going bad.
