Motor swap 350z vq35 to g35 vq35
I have an 2004 G35 6mt and blew the motor. My mechanic swapped in a 2005 350z 6mt non-revup motor into my car and it wont start. It's not getting any spark. I'm using my original g35 harness, ecu, and key. My car does not seem to be in NAT lockout. Can anyone please help me!
In this case, can I use my original harness and ECU? Would reflashing my original ECU work? |
anyone?

Man- I don't know ANYTHING about cars but this is screaming ECU incompatibility.
I'm going to refer you back to ONE OF YOUR ORIGINAL POSTS on the subject since it seems to answer all of your questions- the last post of which is probably your answer... which you thanked. https://g35driver.com/forums/general...-question.html In that thread your "mechanic" thought your ECU was fried and you were going to replace that. In this thread your ECU is original and your motor was fried. My first stop would be Seymore but man, you have GOT to get it together. |
Update: Car is now running. It was a burnt ECU. Found a used ECU from a junk yard off an identical car and had it reprogrammed. Also had to reprogram my keys to work with new ecu. My original ECU would've worked with the 350z motor if it wasn't fried.

Ask on My350z, but you "SHOULD" be able to swap a non Rev-up motor in to all non Rev-up motor cars.
|
yea the 350z non rev-up was compatible with my stock ecu. I just had to get another g35 ecu bc mine was fried.

So is it working now?
