Z tube.....can't hear a difference.

I just put a Z tube on my G Sedan. I don't hear a difference. Maybe, there a tiny bit of a sound difference, but it could be the pacedo effect.

The only difference I heard was when I shifted, I could a little something. Under Acceleration, not a note different.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yeah the Z-tube is a little over rated, you have to add something to make it louder...

The K&N filter, Stillen Airbox, or Popcharger are popular choices.

I have a z tube on an otherwize stock 6mt sedan I could hear the difference in sound the first time I hit the gas (hard) I dont know what to tell you. I have driven a couple of 350z's and my intake is noticably louder.... I have no idea why... maybe the z's exhaust sound drounds out the intake.

My stillen airbox should be here tomorrow.

I noticed the difference under load immediately. I added a Pop-charger shortly thereafter and the intake volume increased a little more.

you won't hear a difference until you rev it HARD. above 4k rpms or so. if you didnt rev hard before installing the z-tube then you dont really have anything to compare to.

i have to agree. ;)

Love the sound when you gun it 4K...you can hear the VQ suck in that air. BTW I just have the Z-tube w/stock air box.

Alone, the tube will make a subtle difference in sound, but it's there. Much more noticeable above 4k.
Modifying the inlet will render a big difference in sound.

I agree, there is a noticable improvement in sound above 4k.

I put the stillen air box on over the weekend. WOW> Now, it's loud!!! My wife thought I changed the exhaust.

Of course, it is only loud when you really get on it. especially between 5000 and 7000, it gets noisy. This certainly isn't a subtle sound change.

I like it though.

I have the Z-tube and only seem to notice it once my engine has warmed up a bit......

I had to turn mine in...It sounded awesome but was too loud for my taste.

I am getting used to it. I still can't believe that the airbox can make that much of an audible difference.

Man, does it howl between 5000-7000 rpm. The engine really pulls up there!
