Pulley's

Anyone installed an undercrank pulley system yet? What kind of HP gain do they produce?

Call Yuichi at StrictlyZ or PM him. They use them on the Z and have had good results.

I think Yuichi is to busy to answer my questions. =)

Are you saying we will be able to use the Z's pulleys on the G? Such as the ones from Stillen?

Who said I'm too busy?! Hahah

Yes the pulleys from the Z should work on the G. But beware they were built for the 350Z. I'm sure they work on the G.

Regarding pulley's the reason we don't sell them for the Z or G yet. Is i'm not convinced they will be good for the motor or not.

There is a lot of debate in the automotive field wether or not these affect the motor in a bad way or not.

The debate is that your motor's current pulley is balanced. So UR makes a pulley that is just light weight. So basically they are lightening the load for your crank to spin making it easier for your engine to get into higher rpms faster. Like a flywheel does.

The reason I'm hesistant is we have shown decent gains for the Z32. But those pullies weigh like 15 or more pounds stock, they lighten them down to around 4 or 5 pounds.

The 350Z one is already fairly light at 6-7 pounds. I believe the G35 one is same once again. UR lightened theirs to around 1 pound.

For all of you unless you really can't wait. I would wait to see dyno charts on the 350Z first. Then from there do the research about the VQ engine and see if you really want to take that approach and if its worth it to you.

Like I said don't take my word do the research your self. As I'm no expert;)

Gya!

Yuichi, no one has made a after market pulley system for the VQ35 with a harmonizer yet?

We had similar problems on the SHO. The end result was shops stopped changing the crank pulley. The underdrive pulleys were only put on the accessories. The belt size had to change but they worked well. Is anyone considering this?

Re: Pulley's

I am. Already had one on a VQ35DE for 18 months/ 15000 miles. No problems even with a 1400 watt stereo system and in the middle of an arizona summer. I have the stock crank pulley from my altima still and it weighs about 10 lbs, maybe less. Maybe I will just compare them for y'all
