anybody understand the G35's use of CAN
 

I'm somewhat confused by nissan's use of CAN on the G35. While the car does use CAN I can't seem to figure out if a CAN enabled scan tool is needed to get at the diag data. My DLC (2004 G35c) has pins 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 14, 16.

I noticed from the info on scantool.net that the 2003 G35 is ISO9141, but I'm not sure about 2004. I heard that there was some sort of switch during that timeframe.

If it's the case that the 2004 g35 is ISO9141, then what are the CAN pins 6 and 14 used for?
