CNR pulley's came!!!!

i just got my CNR lightweight OEM sized pulley set from crazy nut racing. There was a GB on my350Z.com so i jumped on it, saying what the hell, might as well try them because they're less than half the price of the UD pulley set. These aren't half bad for $118. The craftsmanship looks to be excellent, they did a half-azz job on the powdercoating (7/10) but it's all good because it was free! and you cant see it when it's on the car. i'll be installing them on wednesday so i'll let you guys know how it works out. here's some pics after pulling them out of the box.

lol atlantic, and why do you say that? i'm willing to take the risk and try out a new company... i did my research before buying, there are numerous people on my350z.com that have them on their VQ's and havent had any problems so you can take your comment and shove it bud.

hmmmmm...... are these the same as the kjr pulleys? i need new pulleys....

Gdup35sedan Mar 20, 2006 08:03 PM

KJR only makes the crank pulley, this is a pulley set, all lightened. The CNR crank pulley weighs ~1.9 lbs.

Woohooo! 1 whp! YEAY BABY! $118 per hp ain't too shabby. PLUS the added bonus of increased peak crank stresses. Where do I sign up?

Looks very good, congrats.

Gdup. Just for your FYI, I ran an ASP pulley on my old maxima. I actually had to take it off/on a few times to get a steel sleeve installed on it. It allowed me to 'butt dyno' the results more than once. I did notice the engine rev noticably easier. Of course due to the gearing, 1st reved much faster with decreasing returns as the gearing went from 1st to 5th. I do believe there was a hp increase also.
My particular maxima used a solid steel pulley so I don't believe there was any harmonic reduction in the pulley vs BMWs. VQ30s had a steel pulley with a very thin rubber liner that might/might not have been for harmonics or to reduce shock when accessories were engaged. ie.. ac...
