*dyno* results!! 2005 G35C 5AT w/ HKS and AEM CAI

2 Attachment(s)
I put my G35C 5AT on Church's Dynapack 2000 last Saturday for a semi-baseline. I never thought about getting a stock baseline because *initial* plans only included an intake and cat-back....:p

As my sig shows, I've got an AEM CAI and an HKS Hi-Power. I know the CAI won't do much for me until the car gets tuned (prob TS).

On the attached hp and torque curves, the high curve is the third pull. The guy doing the test decided to remove the AFR sensor tube from my left exhaust and found it was restricting me ~13hp.
Peak HP: 264.7 (stock 5ATs run 245-250 on that dyno)
Peak torque: 246.1

From here, I'm putting on a Crawford plenum and then probably headers. I'm still contemplating the headers because I don't want to lose any low end. Any comments??

(The AFR plot reads 1 high, so where it reads 14.0 on the plot it's actually 13.0)

I'd like to know more about the removed sensor adding 13 hp???

Does that throw a CEL?

To get the AFR, they have a sensor or two attached to a ~1.5" steel pipe that was loosely fit into my left exhaust opening. My guess is that the pipe acts as an exhaust extension to direct airflow past some CO2 sensors. When they removed the steel pipe (and AFR sensors) from the left exhaust, you can see the hp and torque went up dramatically. I guess the sensor pipe was restricting flow. I believe they tapped into the OBDII port to read O2 from the car's sensors.

It didn't throw a CEL, as I recall. I did get some warning lights but that was from having the back wheels spinning and the front ones still.

You won't lose tq with headers, if anything you will gain!
