DIY: How to Change the Sound of Your Viper Alarm & Chirp
 

Here's how to change the standard chirp sound you hear when you lock/unlock the car. This WILL also change your alarm sound since the chirp is just a short pulse of the alarm tone.

First, put your alarm in valet mode by turning the key just for a second to the "on" position then immediately turning it back off. Then immediately press the valet button on the receiver one time. the light will indicate and your two way remote will beep.
Next, remove the siren and mount from your car.
Then put a screw back in with the ground wire connector so your alarm will still sound.

Now remove the two little screws from the siren (they are annoying and will stick to the magnet)

Now pull out the little plug where the wires go in, so that the wires will feed through when you pull out the front

Now pull out the inside middle of the speaker and look at what you got

These metal wires here are the connectors for each siren sound. What you're going to do is test each one until you like it. Take a pair of nail clippers and clip the first metal wire (J1) on top. After you clip it, make sure the two ends aren't touching. You can't undo this step.

Set your siren down and go disable valet mode by turning the key to on then off and press the button. Then just unlock (don't lock cuz your hood is open, duh) to hear the sound or use car finder (fx3 then unlock) to hear a sample of it.

Continue to clip the ones you don't wanna hear (like the first one, which is the standard chirp). I went for number 5, so i clipped the first four...
no you can't reattach them, they are gone forever, so listen to the sound clips i have provided below (up to number 5)...

Yeah a lot of people dont know this trick but its in the install manuals usually. But you have to remember when you cut them it wont play that sound when the alarm is triggered. Good way to know its your alarm since it wont sound like every other car alarm. But they arent gone forever, to reattach them you just have to solder them back together. If you can take the siren apart you are probably capable od soldering them even if you never have before.
