how do you DIY cold air bumper intake?
Read the title =).
That looks freakin hard for someone who hasn't done anything like that before. Should I just bite down and pay labor or is it actually do able? Is the z-tube-pop charger much easier? |
I was in your situation as well ... but i did it myself .. i just had some one who knew how to install it .. watch me .. so that i don't **** it up. But do it yourself, thats how you learn... Good Luck. The install was very easy once i got it done .... but it took me about 45 minutes .... where as it would take 20 minutes or less for some one who knew what they were doing.

K&N Typhoon CAI comes with good directions, takes less than an hour.

it's pretty easy...once you open everything up, it will become clear. BTW...you don't need to remove the bumper, just take the drivers side wheel off and remove the inner lining.
Also...make sure your MAF goes in the right way with regards to air direction. Hooman |
Yup, didn't take my bumper off to do the Injen. Just the drivers wheel, and pulled back the inner fender liner. I saw the diagram for removing the fender and said screw that! About an hour here.

like they said, get a friend to watch you. If you're a beginner, doing this mod on your own will open up many other possibilities for you to do in the future that are similar (plenum, spacer, grounding wires.. haha) you get the idea. It's pretty straight forward and the instructions are usually pretty good.
