FL forum members, you'll owe me for this
I found the motherload- a quality indy shop that is less expensive than anything I've ever seeeeen. Below is what I had the shop do and what they charged me. Note that I purchased the parts myself separately. These are out-the-door prices:
G35:
- Control arm replacement (both) $80.
335i:
- Downpipe replacement $75. About $350 at most other indy shops.
- Transmission pan replacement including fluid (Castrol full synthetic multi import) $89.95.
- Valve cover gasket replacement $150. About $600 in labor at most indy shops, over $1,000 at the dealer.
He only charges $50/hour labor and is super conservative on the number of hours (in the customer's favor). He barely marks up parts at all. Everything but the transmission gasket kit would have been cheaper had I had him order the parts.
The guy gets the work done fast, ASE certified, English is his primary (and probably only) language, been in the community a number of years, has wife & kids, is an all-around good guy, and on and on...The shop is just him and his wife.
Below is his contact info. I found that email worked best. I'm not affiliated with the shop in any way other than being a really satisfied customer who wants him to stay in business!
