Do you really want to see the "after" weight dist figures???? Because it does exist.

Why would I put a 450hp laggy turbo motor w/ nos when I could just put a STOCK 500hp na engine w/ tons of torque and near 50/50 weight dist??

This argument is really rediculous. All points being what they are, ... the VQ can be built plenty strong, It is light, and the addition of a turbo kit isn't that bad, it's to going to [best echoing anouncers voice]"hurt the balance"......[/]

lets be happy the Nissan guys know what they're doing and do the best with what they gave us....

It's called Godzilla for a reason

I'll be planing to swap one in myself. One local shop rough estimated 6k for the labor and farication..I'd rather spend 10k+ on a RB than on a VQ.

Here is a post from a LS1 converted FD RX7 owner.

Weighed my LS1 FD today 50:50 myth debunked

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I took a road trip down to Eugene today to let Turbojeff take a look at my finished conversion. We took the car out for a little spin so he could put it through it's paces, and I think he was generally impressed.

Anyhow, we stopped at a truck scale along the way and the car weighed in at 2960 lbs. Just 60 lbs heavier than a stock 94 touring.

With the two of us in the car (I'm about 215lbs myself) and a half tank of gas the weight was 1660lbs over the front and 1640lbs over the rear.

I guess I really screwed up the weight distribution what with my 50.3:49.7 weight distribution huh? Another 8 gallons of fuel and I'd be dead even.

Next weekend I'll put it on the dyno and see what it makes. And at some point I'll start finding areas to cut some weight.

Jeff!!!!!!

Do you really belive that weighing the car in a truck scale ,with people inside + all other little things like half tank of gas is the correct way to know the car balance or weight distribution???????? If you belive that I think YOU belive all that crap that the TV shows .Check how much time consuming is to just corner weight a car and that guy in a truck scale know how much weight distribution his cars has IF you belive that!!!!!!!thats ok with me
SO IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE RB26 SWAP IN A G35 FOR A LS VS 13B ENGINE INTO RX7 !!!!!!THATS OK WITH ME
WHY PUT A SR20 INTO RX7 JUST BECASE I LIKED BETTER THAN A LS SWAP!!!PLUS LIKE YOU SAID BEFORE LESS W E I G H T PERIOD!!! HAVE YOU EVER DRIVE A 400WHP SR20DET(BECAUSE I HAVE)?????Did you know how many turbo kits are out ther for the sr20det that will get you over the 400whp and be super responsive for the street!!!!!!!for your way of thinking I already know the answer NO.The way you tried to proof your point I will guess that the quickest car you have drive is a G!!!

Back to the original thread!!!!!!

If you want more than 550whp swap th VQ for the MIGHTY rb26dett(tons of reliable HP + rev like no other engine out there)
If less than 550whp is what you need ,just build a VQ35 short block and turbo!!!pleny of turbo kits will get you there!!!!!!! The Rb26 is a HIGH HP AND HIGH RPM ENGINE THAT CAN BE EASY TRIPLE HIS STOCK RATED POWER!!!!!!!!

my thoughts exactly. I don't see many 10 second 350's or G35's out there....and the ones that do exist are probably shop cars that get a track outing or 2 to "show-off" what they can do...

An LS7 in a G35 coupe or sedan would be FN sweet....

Ls7 Engine In A G !!!!!!!!

A LS7 into a G for me is like swaping ford escort engine in to a Porche 911!!!!!! make me feel like I need to go to the bathroom and take a dump!! Why someone wants to do that??????? I DON`T KNOW!!!!
I`AM JUST A NISSAN FAN (BEEN WORKING ON NISSAN ENGINES SINCE `92 )!! TO0 MANY GREAT ENGINES OUT THERE (L28ET ,VG30ET ,VG30DETT,SR20DET,SR20VE ,RB25DET,GODZILLA RB26DETT,VQ35DE TO NAME A FEW) TO JUST SWAP IT FOR A LS7. For me is like trying to make a MOPAR FAN TO SWAP HIS ENGINE FOR A FORD ENGINE!!!! IS" NASTY".

If someone want a V8 muscle just sell your G a buy a mustang .But beaware that you will get spank by a 3.5 V6 (less cubic inches and 2 pistons missing)

Why Not Many !!!!!!!

Why there not to many 10`sec G or 350z ?????
#1 still both fairly new cars!!!
#2 A lot of R&D need it!!
#3 Suspension need to be tuned for drag (power is there need to be put to the ground)
#4 DRIVERS!!!!!! (MORE SEAT TIME AND TECHNIC)

HERE IN PUERTO RICO ARE AT LEAST 6 LOW,LOW 11 SEC G35 COUPE AND 2 10 SEC 350Z!!!!!!NOT SURE BUT i THINK IN STREETFIRE.NET ARE A FEW VIDEOS OF THEM (PROOF NOT LIES)

Do you want to wager I can't find legit stats on LS series weight dist? I'll let you set the wager.

Why should I build a huge turbo SR 20 when I can have 450hp from an OLDER LS2? Put a STOCK NA LS7 engine and it's over 500hp. And for less.

Hmm weight doesn't seem to concern you that much when it's a front heavy RB26 in a G though

Please stick with the weight issues of an inline straight six made out of iron and add the weight of an IC, turbo(s) and the associated plumbing. Thanks

If someone wants a RB powered car, just import or buy a legalized R32/R34 or whatever.

Your are worse than the RX7 losing their "soul" fanboys. ugh

Jeff again!!!

You dont just give up, rb26 in a G for me is no a weight issue IF THE CAR WILL BE USED ON THE STREET. BUT IS THE G WILL BE USED FOR TRACK OR ROAD RACE THEN IS A DIFFERENT STORY. ALREADY TOLD YOU THIS!!!

Again rb26 in a street G weight issues are minimal with some minor work to suspension (sway bars etc.)The one that is concern about weight is YOU!!!
You are the one changing the subject here for a LS engine in to a RX7.Then trying to make me belive that with a truck scale that guy knows the weight distribution of thet car( in your dreams) then tell me that a LS (5.7 engine )weight less or the same as a 1.3 rotary engine ( I can lift and walk around a 13b with out accesories easy). So keep looking around for more info.I will be working on cars!!!!!!! something clearly you dont do !!!!!!!!!

I RATHER LOOSE MY SOUL WITH A RB26DETT ENGINE ,THAN LOOSING MY SOUL ,HEART ,LIFE AND ALL RACES WITH A 3 TO 4 TIMES BIGGER LESS POWER V8 DOMESTIC ENGINE

Do the laws of physics change on the street?? Weight is weight. More is bad

Again rb26 in a street G weight issues are minimal with some minor work to suspension (sway bars etc.)The one that is concern about weight is YOU!!!

Um is well documented. All you have to do is set the wager amount right

I RATHER LOOSE MY SOUL WITH A RB26DETT ENGINE ,THAN LOOSING MY SOUL ,HEART ,LIFE AND ALL RACES WITH A 3 TO 4 TIMES BIGGER LESS POWER V8 DOMESTIC ENGINE
I'd rather have 500 na hp and perfect 50/50 weight balance myself. But that's just my apparent illogical thinking You know, it's not like people don't BUILD V8 engines also. 1,000+ hp turbo V8s are NOT uncommon. And they are perfectly street capable and emissions legal. Also I'm not too sure in your state but in some, one has to use an engine that's of an equal or newer year

Jeff!

Jeff just sell you G (if you have one),and buy a old vette if you cant afford a new one!!!!!!!! The law of physics not change in the street it make it easier and more forgiving in the street. YOU continue to belive that a 50/50 balance stock rx7 with a LS engine swap will keep the 50/50 balance LOL

I see that the more you write here the less you know !!!!well documented??????show me the proof of a fully profesional weight 50/50 balance rx7 with a LS engine .No B.S write up that someone in a truck scale stuff.
Know show me just one production V8 that I can triple the stock flywheel hp ,no whp(just to make it easier for you)STOCK BLOCK. RB26DETT been there done that ALOT OF TIMES and thats really well documented!!!!!!!!

RB26DETT RACE DETUNED ENGINE PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
