Does everyone get these big difference in numbers on different Dyno's ??

Just thought you G/Z guys would get a kick out of this......

I was invited to a Corvette Club Time attack event this past Sunday. Came first in the Modified bracket by 8 seconds. One of the ZO6 guys protested my win. So they sent my car to the garage for inspection :icon20: They were looking for some injection kit ( NOS ),because one of the flag guys said he heard spraying sounds on the back straight :icon20: THAT WAS THE BOV :icon22: They asked me AGAIN how much HP... I told them 444rwhp ( because thats what Sharif got on the DD dyno with controller off and 501 @ 14.5 psi). They protested again and said it had more. They hooked it up to the Dyno and to my fing surprise 558 rwhp at 564 tq @ 14.5 psi, But I ran it at 11psi. They disqualified me on the spot :icon20: I called Sharif a few seconds later, because I wanted to know if they are trying to screw me out of a win :icon10: But Sharif said it sounds about right. They want to disconnect my Boost Control and for me to repeat the runs.... or run in the Open Class with the Race prepped race cars...Yeah right  it aint worth $3000 and a trophy for me to let them disconnect anything on my car.

Has any one else gotten the kind of Dyno differences

why didn't you dyno at 11 psi, since that's what you ran?

Nismo G Sep 10, 2007 12:49 PM

wow, i would be venting as well man. I just put an interesting read about different dynos.

Check it out and tell me what you think...

They did dyno at low boost ...it was 507 on their dyno and 444 on Sharif's dyno. The max in that bracket is 450 on their dyno....so I was sunk from the start. They did not believe that I ran it on low...so they dynod it at high boost and they got 558. They would have made me slide because of the weight difference but the 558 was way over board for the inspectors.

That seem right, Sharif's dyno read the lowest of all sponsored dyno. If I'm not mistaken at your power level you should hit 40-60 more hp on a dynojet compared to Sharif's #, they don't call it a heartbreaker dyno for nothing;)

that sucks, but i'm a bit surprised that you were unaware of the different types of dynos and numbers they produce...

i knew exactly what you were going to say before I even finished reading your post lol....perhaps you could convince them that their dyno reads high?

btw, you shouldn't have any problems running just on the wastegate spring if they disconnect the EBC...i'm surprised they are so anal that they won't even honor the honor code  pretty pathetic if you ask me

i don't remember your original post, but what psi is your spring rated at? you shouldn't have a problem running on the wastegate spring...

I agree! You should be able to provide a dyno graph (per sharif) to proove that - that is what your car dynoed at, but they probably have a regulation that it has to be per their dyno or something.

617G....
I knew that Sharif's dyno numbers were lower.....but I did not know it was that much:mad:

Nismo G.....
I did tell them that their numbers are crazy...and I even showed them a copy of Sharif's dyno sheet....but they showed me the rules.... If protested...they will only consider their results. :7:

well, it sounds to me like they are bitter...you said that they would have let you slide at 50whp over, which is what you ran at, but they didn't even believe you lol...pretty sad...

just run it again with the EBC off and prove them wrong

sharif@forged Sep 10, 2007 07:20 PM
