SSR Engineering G35 402WHP @ 6.4 PSI

Re: SSR Engineering G35 402WHP @ 6.4 PSI
Guys
The reason he is getting such good numbers is stock timings. He has not retarded timings with that much boost - a basic suicide IMO. The only reason that his engine has not blown up yet is because he is running so pig rich - mid-10's on the AFR. That is a very poor way of extracting power IMHO: having aggressive timings to advance the flame propogation way before TDC and then pumping A LOT of gas into the chamber to slow the propagation.
THe much safer and more elegant way of doing it would be to retard timing and bring the the AFR to 11.5-11.7. You will probably make pretty good power in that range (around 380 if I had to guess). But with a much better safety margin. But hey, not everyone is Todashi, not everyone can rewrite the ECU to have it do exactly what you want (instead they go and do something like this to the car). I just hope our fellow G driver doesn't succomb to a blown engine. A single predetonation event can be lethal here.
