I would argue that a larger rad provide doesn't more engine safety than a RFS, having your fuel distributed evenly to each cylinder is more likely to save your engine than a larger rad

So, my gramps used to say to listen to those who know so... AAM Stage 0 FRS is purchased. I had a suggestion for a Mishimoto rad up top. Any seconds? Any other suggestions? I've read the OEM fans won't fit with a thicker rad and Vortech. Is modifying the shroud enough or do I really need aftermarket slim fans? If so, what's the wiring like?

I'm not too worried about difficulty of the wiring but rather about the fact that most aftermarket fans I've seen have only two wires and ours have four. Also, ours are multispeed and I'm wondering if the fans I put in will behave accordingly. I know I can put in a fan controller but I'd rather not.

there's a wiring diagram on my350z for incorporating aftermarket slim fans into the OEM wiring. FWIW, you may be able to get by with the OEM fans if you stick with a 36mm radiator (koyo v-core, for example). I opted for slim fans anyway since the clearance is pretty tight (see below).

All that crap is true but you get used to it and adjust. The potholes REALLY **** me off as I'm on Kyalami 20's! The parking spots... I look for places far far away where no one will ding my doors. As for the crazy drivers... Just drive crazier!!!! (hence the Vortech)

Also change all the belts as well, and if you want to get your engine parts polished, get those done in one go.
Not to jack the thread but I just got my Vortech tuned on the stock clutch and I am noticing it slipping now with 417whp. I am thinking the JWT or Comp stage 4 like mentioned, any recommendations.

So...I'm pretty much set with parts list. BTW, you can add an AAM oil pan spacer to it. However, I've read some horror stories about routing the Vortech oil lines to it instead of to the pan so I'll just use it for extra oil capacity.
I still haven't decided what to do on programming. It is true that Cobb has stopped supporting the VQ but they have a link on their web site to request their AccessTuner software and I believe there is SOME limited support still around. I want to explore this first as the UTEC will be another $500 used plus whatever tuning fees my local tuner will charge. We'll see!

Now for the REAL question. My setup should yield in the low 400whp. Will I be able to beat my friends new 2011 5.0 Rustang????

get a V3 blower and you won't have to worry about oil lines

You should be able to, its like 400 at the crank for them. They also weigh about 3600 lbs.
