SoCal (OC/LA) - Smog Center that'll pass my G???
 

Hey Guys,

I need some help here... any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I most likely will have to sell my TT'd G35 (GReddy TT) in the next few weeks. I need to find a smog station in Orange County or the Los Angeles area that will pass my G, since I know it probably won't pass a regular smog test with a TT. If anyone knows of a location that will pass my G, please let me know. Even if it'll cost a few extra $'s, I don't mind...

hey it is going to be very hard with all the crack downs on smog stations to find one. They are shutting them down if they get caught or getting big fines. I can talk with one guy I know in san diego. I will pm you if he says he could.

If you get an illegal pass you are still responsible in the future [till 100k or now 120K [?]] for returning the G35 to absolute oem specifications, if the new buyer [and CARB] decides you committed emission tampering even though you got a pass.........if 3-7 years from now they [owner/emission station] find non oem cats or exhaust mods or anything changed from oem that causes an emission change.

Submitting a fradulent pass is a felony and fraudlent transfer of title.

You need to think what might happen in the future with subsequent owners who fail and turn you in to get a temporary waiver till you pay to have it fixed.
Shops who install non CARB equipment are subject to $10,000 fine per car.

Most people end up selling moded cars outside of California to launder the title and remove some of legal liability [unless the car is ever returned to California and you are still a resident. As the feds don't usual come after individual owners.
