boost won't increase, tried two different controllers...

recently got my car retuned (aps tt kit) and ditched the unichip for uprev. got it tuned at JEimport performance and we tried two different boost controllers trying to raise the boost and couldnt.

we did a boost leak test and there were none. i checked the lines running to both wastegates and they're all connectted properly but we couldn't get the turbos to boost over 7 pounds.

The weird thing is that on the drive there, i was hitting what it was previously tuned for (9.5 psi) so were not sure whats going on.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on whats happening. btw it's more of a curiosity thing for now because we still made 415 whp on 7 psi =D..before i was at 360whp on 9.5 psi..go figure lol

There is more to tuning than boost, your timing is likely more aggressive to make more power with less boost. More boost dosent always = more power.

i wasn't really worried about that part of the post lol..and timing is at 75% so i guess its pretty aggressive

I am sure you were not worried about that part but you seemed confused by it. If JE couldnt slove your issues looking at the car I highly doubt any internet mechanics will solve it with out seeing the car and trying a few things. If i think there are no leaks and everything is plumbed right I would pull the lines apart and re do them with new hose then you are 100% sure there are no issues there. You already tried different boost controllers did you try a manual boost "T" not much can wrong on them? Other than that waste gate or gate actuators issues would be the only thing left?

haha i should just start pming you when i have a question because you seem to know your stuff. turns out..there is nothing wrong. I disconnected the boost controller (i was using a manual tee in the first place) from the wastegates and took the G out for a spin...what do ya know hit 10 psi (dangerous i know) so i connected the controller back up and spun it a couple times and the boost increased, but when i was at the shop getting dynoed, JE said that he turned it quite a bit and boost would not increase, keep in mind this is a brand new controller I picked up from their shop...so I'm not too happy because that wasted a ton of time on the dyno trying to figure out what was wrong when nothing was wrong. I'm hoping he will give me another hour of tuning for free seeing how it wasn't my fault or the car's fault boost wasn't increasing but we will see

Good to hear you got it figured out, feel free to pm me if you ever have questions I will try to help if I can. I built my car myself and have had the engine and turbos swapped out pulled out or upgraded several times so I have learned a few things.

+1.. more fuel and timming = more power

actually less fuel....the leaner you are the more power you make to an extent, however the leaner you are the better chance of BOOM :crying:

you are right when you advance timing you add fuel to keep it "safe"

Never been a fan of manual boost controllers... good luck with your build/tune.
