Thinking about purchasing a 2003 Greddy TT'd G35. Anything i should look for?

As the title states, going to look at a g35 with 115k miles that has been running a Greddy TT kit for the past 60k. Just wanted to know what are some of the big things i should look for when i go look at it. I know it's going to be a roll of the dice either way. I'm pretty sure the car has the stock bottom end. But he is running low boost that and it's only seeing 415whp on a day to day basis when it's driven.

Proof of receipts and hope he serviced it at appropriate intervals? You could always get an oil analysis done through blackstone labs (or someone like them) so you can learn the engines condition.

Walk away! Any time excessive pressure is applied to a motor (especially ours) it's life is drastically reduced! With 60K miles under pressure engine failure is just around the corner...don't walk, run away!

You could look at it as a project car if you don't mind putting a little more money in it. You could have a built short block, rebuilt turbos and basically an engine overhaul for under $10K. Since the motor would already be apart, would be a great time to replace the timing components, the majority of the seals/gaskets and upgrade the oil pump. Possible transmission issues should come out during the test drive.

I would not trust a stock block with any front mounted turbo setup, especially since I would not know the history.

I'm going to look at it. No harm in that. this guy only drives it on the weekends and recently it was serviced and inspected at SOHO for a updated fuel system and retune. But it's only been running the low boost wastegate spring for the life of it. He sent me some idle videos of the car running and a few of them driving it. It's sounds pretty smooth. Still need to inspect it in the flesh. It really comes down to how much he will let me have the car for. He's not asking a lot but he's not asking very low either. Also my plans were to look into getting a new short block for it and having all it's weak points addressed. if the car drives fine and can hold together until i refresh it i'll be happy with. Other than it's age, greddy doesn't make **** kits.

I have been running the Greddy twins on my car since 2006 and over 70,000 miles on stock bottom end with no problems and she still runs great.I would get a compression test and a leakdown test and i would also call SOHO and ask them about it if they service the car.

You won't regret it, congrats, that's one clean looking car.

Woo hoo, I hope she doesn't bite back. Great looking car and it has to be a blast to drive. I drove ttrank's car 7 years ago and it was beast, if you aren't familiar with him go through this thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...ddy-twins.html

He's an aerospace engineer and made a lot of custom parts himself. His car is my favorite G of all time, mad respect.

And now he's tearing it up and selling it :(

probably because he’d get more of a financial return parting it out rather than sell it as a whole.
