Turbomaxima's Official Vortech SC Install Thread (lots of pictures)

As many of you have noticed I have posted questions on this board and on my350z.com all about the Vortech SC'er and the install process. I am not impressed with the instructions that come with the kit, and not a lot of people have the time to take pictures while doing an install so I am going to change that. This thread will be my ongoing Vortech SC "blog" with tons of pictures and daily updates; as parts come in, I start removing things, etc.

I hope that this becomes a valuable resource for people like myself for everyone down the road. If you are not a fan of threads with lots of useless pictures go ahead and hit the back button now, because I enjoy useless pictures.

We will call this Day 1 because nothing of importance really happened over the weekend besides spending money.

Thanks guys.. Brett, feel free to email me any and all pictures to ssjztien@aol.com. I actually saw your install thread on some search a couple days ago, but obviously all of the images were down.

Day2

No updates, apparently the UPS guy decided not to drop off the gauges and oil pan spacer today. Have to get some oil at autozone tomorrow, may have to get some iridium plugs and a gates belt locally if CP Race doesn't get anything in stock. Hopefully I will have time to take off the bumper/intake piping and etc thursday or friday. Stay tuned..

You know I will steve.. I've already bombed your PM box, so hopefully I won't have too much to ask about. The only part of the install that I don't completely comprehend are the fuel lines coming off of the FMU and where they go. There aren't really any pictures of what the lines are connected to, most pictures just show them going up into the engine bay. I am guessing this is self explanitory once you are under there?

And you can count on me to keep this updated.

fuel lines are straight foward . T off the main fuel supply line...run into aux. fuel pump...out of aux. fuel pump to FMU.....out of FMU to another T fitting back into main fuel line

That doesn't sound too bad at all; is the main fuel line a pretty obvious line once you are in there? So there are 3 total T's on the fuel system (2 at the FMU and one at the main fuel line)?

Yo Jay, good luck on the install. By the way, did you get your new wheels yet?

Not yet.. it should be 2 weeks out if all goes as planned, but we shall see. I'd like to get a set of the new machined center caps at the same time as the wheels, but I guess I can always swap them out.

Congrats! She'll be a beast! Good luck with everything. :)

the fuel line runs along the RHS engine bay firewall, look down there and you will see 2 or 3 metal lines held to the firewall with a bracket, undo that bracket and from below you have to undo the quick connect, then install the vortechs fuel lines.
