Doordefender's magnetic car door guards stop door dings & prevent car paint damage

This is the first time I've heard of this, it's pretty cool. Nice to have if one lives in a dense metro area. I know I want a set for myself because every parking lot I pull into here in the DC area seems a foot too narrow!! I actually saw it on Test-Drive on the MOJO HD channel and looked it up online. What do you guys & gals think??? Here's the link below:

The Doordefender guards both car and truck doors against, paint scratches, door dings and door dents wherever you park.
Doordefender door guards are suitable for use as both a car and truck accessory. These removable luxury magnetic car door guards provide superior truck and car paint protection.

Being a magnetic car door guard, it is not permanently stuck to your car’s expensive paint, making it a perfect temporary door guard that you can use when you need to. When not in use, it conveniently stows away.

These door guards are a carefree car protection product too. They are an extremely low maintenance custom car accessory, all that’s needed to keep your doordefender guards looking new is a simple wipe with a damp cloth, warm water or mild cleanser if needed.
It’s one of those ingenious car care accessories that once you start using it, you can’t imagine your car or truck parked without a guard on the door again. You’ll wonder how you ever managed without it.

Doordefender car door guards reliably guard against door dings while helping to protect your investment.

people can just rip that right off... why not just buy the OEM door moldings?

Kazaam Nov 28, 2007 12:23 AM

No it actually has a piece you close inside the passenger or drivers door to prevent theft. IMO Door moldings protect against vertain size cars, certail cars sitting higher up still ding you up. But that's just my opinion.

i like the idea...but i'm afraid that people will mess around with it and in turn scratch my paint.

How much is it?

Kazaam Nov 28, 2007 01:29 AM

It's on the site, I think $89 plus shipping

people would probably key your car out of spite.

RPL Nov 28, 2007 04:00 AM

^that, and I would still park in middle of no where just for the peace of mind.

I think this is an awesome aftermarket product for all vans, truck, cars, suvs. It is sad we live in a world where we even have to think people will do things out of spite. I know people who would see that and gash the F*ck out of a car half an inch below that guard. Just because itd be funny to watch that poor guy come out and go WTF!

this is just one big open invitation to have your car messed with. It's like wearing a sign taped to your back that says kick me.

If someone saw that on your car they would probably rip it off.

looks like crap

in2win Nov 28, 2007 10:34 PM

good idead in theory, but it will scratch the crap out of ur paint if u move it. I put magnets on a mt fuji logo and just having it on for 1 days put tiny hairline scratches in the clear coat. +1000 for people will mess with your car if u had these on.

if you daily drove a phantom I could see that but come on now dents are easily repaired with paintless dent removal.

looks like a POS to me, no offense to the people who like it.
