shop's lifts (cars too low to raise it up) need suggestions

hey peeps :)

i have a promblem, soo my car is dropped on H&R springs (very low drop) and i always have promblems lifting my car at many shops mostly lifts, is there anything i could do? what do most lowered car owners do? buy ramps? need help, im trying to install a y pipe and all the shops told me that "Sorry your car is too low to lift" :7: i have a G37S by the way.

Please help!

your shop ur going to is retarded, use ramps to get onto the lift

or just get a jack, put it underneath the diff, and jack the car up to the height that you need. i do it all the time.

What kind of lift is it?

If it's a lift you have to drive onto like the ones they use for alignments, use some 2x4s. Watch out as some of these won't have clearance for a car dropped too low.

If it's a lift that has the extendable arms that go under the car, then jack up the rear. Like mentioned a few posts above, use the rear pumpkin as a jack point.

pics of car?... I wasnt aware of any springs so low that getting on a lift is an issue. adjustable coilovers yes, but springs?

wow, just use 2x4's and drive onto them, I learned this when I first lowered one of my cars when I was 16.

use 2x4's for the front tires and jack up the rear end.

Need to get higher....!

My buddys shop where I change my oil has the extendable arm lifts and I'm
to low without lifting the car while he slides the arms under our lift points. My
plan is to carry a couple wooden 1"x 4" slats to drive on, that should work.

These are perfect. I too am too low for lifts so I had to use these exact ramps last time I had to go on the lift and it worked perfectly.

^ did you have to use the ramps on all 4 wheels for the swing arms to clear or just two in the front?

Those are what we use for the Corvettes we service and have never had any problems with them so they should work fine for you. We use them under all four wheels. Only thing to watch out for is if the floor underneath the ramps is wet they can slide on you when you are driving onto them. Our shop floor is coated and when it gets wet, especially with tranny fluid or oil, it's extremely slick.

For some reason this doesn't make any sense for me. How do you put them under all four wheels at the same time? Is the top of the ramp lower then the clearance of the car in the middle?

You position the car partially into the lift space, put down the ramps, and drive onto them. You don't put all four down before you drive the car all the way into position otherwise you will be driving the front wheels completely over the back wheel ramps.
