HAHAHA. You did what i told you! Good job putting him in his place.
Sounds like my friend with his G20 telling my other friend with his SC300 that it handles better. What a joke.

I actually like the way it looks. Some chick in my school has it and I always see her pull in when I get there. Dont know if its a 3.8 or 2.0.
sure its a G37 knockoff but it still looks good.

this whole thread seems biased. My onest opnion;
-v6 Gen is faster than the G35, or at least on the 2 videos i seen online, didnt race 1 yet, but just numbers alone.. i wouldnt be surprised.
-as far as interior is concerned, from what i saw in that green genesis a couple pages back there is no way it compares stock for stock. not even w 03 interior, looks plain as hell.
-and please, if ur gonna discuss looks, don't post the baddest genesis on the planet and then post a stock G. There are more than enough heavily modded G's on this site to put that Gen to shame. regarding the whole looking "muscular" comment, i personally think the G is beefier, but i guess it's personal preference/taste.
Bottom line, It sounds like it can def hold its own on paper, but i've never seen what it could do personally just random sightings here and there. Also looks like a very good deal as far as bang for the buck if u were going for the 2.0t or the base 3.8 models since from what i can read on the Hyundai site a fully loaded genesis 3.8 track with all the goods goes for 32k not including sales tax and the dealer trying to stick it to u raw. For that price u can pick up a loaded g37, with features the gen doesn't even offer. Its looks don't do anything for me, i can also see why it gets ragged on for being a g37 rip off.. it sort of looks like it is tho but that's nothing new in the car industry. I wouldn't trade mine in for a gen, but then again i wouldn't even trade it G37c tbh. If i sell the G35 im going either the sti route or the m3.. maybe even a 370z .

While I agree with most of what you said, I wanted to point out that your numbers here aren't quite accurate.
I just built a Gen Coupe on Hyundai's site with every option except 6AT, and it came out to under $31K (regional differences?). A G37 Base Sedan with no options is $33K, a Base Coupe is $36K. If you add the Premium and Sport Packages, the Sedan is $38K and the Coupe is $41K. Yes, there are some major components, like VLSD, that aren't available on the Genesis, but, as you pointed out here ...
We should make sure we're comparing apples to apples.

My friend is picking up her Genesis 3.8 tomorrow, looking forward to abusing it and seeing if it stands up. I've also test-driven a G37 and my in-laws have a Genesis sedan, so once I've driven all 4 I'll give a quick $.02.
Blatant rip-off? Yes.
Good looking? Good enough.
Performance? TBD.

The Hyundai is a cool car, and good bang for the buck, but nowhere near as nice as the G imo. Before getting my G35 I thought about the Genesis coupe, but it was way too boy racer for me after really seeing it. Just a totally different class of car.

Let me chime in on this topic. I was so close to getting a Genesis coupe. Sat in one and drove it. Was very impressed with the performance of it being stock. However, after driving a used G35 with low miles and looking back on a new Hyundai genesis coupe I was in awe of how much better the G35 was.

With the G35 and Gen pic next to eachother... the gen just completely looks like a teenage girl car. I honestly wouldnt want to be seen in it.
The G is definitely more of a head turner and a more muscular looking car IMO.

Like the ext of the Gen Coupe.... The int, not so much. Price is a mojor + for Gen coupe but all in all I would say I pick the G coupe for myself. I would only get the Gen coupe if I was getting another coupe as a DD (then I would want the better warrenty and newer car= Gen coupe)............. My 2 pennies

I like the Genesis, but I wouldn't take it over a G35. I have driven one and worked on one as well. The 3.8 is quick, but it just doesn't even feel that fast. People shouldn't bash it just because it's a Hyundai...it's genuinely a nice car.
