Targeted for Having sick G's?

Why does it seem that when I go to order parts for a G specifically they are more expensive then if you search VQ35 or 350z. Also, Why is everything so expensive for our cars still?? My brother has a Scion TC and his turbo kit was less than half of what a Single Turbo set up for the G is. Are we being targeted for being bad a**?

hmmm...

its all relative.. if i bought an M5, the exhaust alone would cost 1/2 price of our cars brand new.

come on dude, basic finance/econ...compare apples to apples

scion prices for aftermarket parts cant be compared with a G! take a car that is equal in value (money wise) to the G and then see what you come up with.

Gotta pay if you wanna play. The quality of parts for our cars are built are way more than what you'd expect from a Scion.

Its not about quality, you can buy some quality products for a scion. If your comparing turbo setups, putting a turbo on a v6 cost more since we have a lot bigger of an engine. Suspension cost more due to the G being a fat B1tch. I could go on and on with this but I think you get the point. If you want to compare look at the Honda Accord v6 coupe or Hyundai Genesis v6 Coupe.

my dads XLR exhaust cost the same price as my exhaust... and i get the fact that the V6 is bigger, but i have a RB26 in my 240 and it is WAY cheaper than a G. I am relieved that the G is a little more expensive because I hate seeing so many Civics and Integra's riced out because they are so easy and cheap to maintain. That means G's wont really be riced out as much because it costs wayyy to much to just throw money into crappy parts. So we buy quality parts and put time into our cars because the price. Im not arguing the fact that we pay more. We always will. And to Meister, the Genesis V6 Single Turbo kit is a little over half the price of a Turbonetics ST for the VQ35

I dunno if this applies man. An engine being bigger doesn't necessarily mean it should cost more. If the parts are the same then it should cost the same no? A coilover setup is a coilover setup is a coilover setup. From car to car it should cost the same. The difference in price would be how much R&D went into it.

So what you are saying is that companies are putting more R&D into the G thats why the coilovers cost more than say a civic. They are not beefing up the setup since one car is a lot heavier than the other and requires more material than another.

Actually a lot of the price is determined by the number of units moved.

The average G owner isn't trying to make the G into a race car. If someone takes the time to engineer a part to fit a niche market (which G modding certainly is when compared to other brands being discussed here) it's going to cost more because you're going to have less units sold.

Example: There are more Scion TCs on the road. There are more kids driving Scions trying to make them go fast. More units sold = less cost.

As the G continues it's downward spiral into civic-land (which it's well on it's way to becoming) units sold will go up and unit price will go down.

Supply and demand.

It most certainly isn't because we're "bada$$..." That ish still makes me LOL..

Meister you could be right on that one... I may have looked a little too quick... SOrry internet is slow here on a ship so i will give that a pass... The simple fact is... V6 TT kits are cheaper on lower end cars, but simply because we drive infiniti they charge us more. A shop tried to charge me more for my Stereo setup and all i wanted was them to run the wires for me. They charged 50 bucks to run wires in my 240. they wanted 200 for the G... come on man!
