G35 ls1 swap
I have a 06 g35 with 5at.
I was wondering if imma have to swap the tranny n rear end to make this work? Any advice??? |
pretty much everything and you'd have to learn how to drive a stick. You would need an LS1, TH400 tranny, and a sikky or fueledracing or hinson(?) mounting kit and driveshaft. Other than that, it's plug and play...har har.

I had a 6speed rsx before this but I'm trying to figure out ho much all this is gonna be if I do all the work myself.. N exactly what I need to buy to make this work?
|
So I don't have to do anything to my rear end???

Doesn't that kit come with a converted drive shaft???

There is a ton of info over on my350z about this swap. You should check there.
I suggest you take a lot of time and do a lot of reading before deciding this is the modification path for you, as it's quite expensive and very involved. |
high level view as c_morse stated...sikky kit roughly 5k with all parts, LS motor around 1500-3k depending on complete mileage etc, T56 2k rough estimate or Th400 built for same price but requires a few other items to run the shift points by compute, MISC 1k expenses. Installing yourself you obviously save money but thats all up to you. I started it all myself in my thread and it was going to cost me another 10k to finish the entire build with the rest of my setup. Take note that the price above is normally just a stock LS motor not built or cammed an so forth..if you want to cam, pistons, ARP head bolts, port and so forth expect another 2-3k at least depending on items you go with.

You also need a wiring solution and lots of Misc parts, lots of guys are saying close to $15,000 for it all in.

G35 LS3 6190 swap
Has anyone on here done the G35 LS swap with the 6180/6190 auto?
If so i have some questions. Will the tip tronic still work. Can you get the factory Tach to work. How much tunnel work is involved, |

Truthfully, I feel like an LS would be much cheaper since most parts are readily available being domestic vs. imported. BTW nice name as Touge is fun in both Virginia and Maryland "if you know the key spots." |
If you're looking at a realistic 400whp you get the benefit of N/A reliability by going with the LS. There's a lot to be said about that btw since you can get +200k miles from a very.mildly built LS.
