GTR vs Z07 Corvette
So lately I've been thinking of my next car purchase. I've been wanting a GTR for a pretty long while but now I'm not so sure anymore. Since the GTR first came out the base price has increased by 33%... in my opinion it's really not that amazing of a deal anymore.
Now I've also been thinking of the 2015 z07 corvette. It has more HP, better brakes and better lateral acceleration. Sure, the GTR is a fraction of a second faster on a 0-60 but does that really make a difference in the real world??
Also, the GTR seems to much like a family car these days.... I'm not sure it pops out at you as much as the z07
Any thoughts??

Well, i am still more for the GTR over the Z06. Everything is better and i look at it as a V6 that can really step up to the plate and deliver. On the other plus side, the insurance will be cheaper for the GTR just the fact that it's a Nissan. But spending that much money, who cares right?!?

yep, ive seen that youtube review comparison a bunch of times... I guess the point that keeps going through my mind is if youre going to spend that kind of money you want something that looks amazing and sounds great. the GTR quite frankly doesnt look that amazing and sounds like a 30k car
not to mention that's a Nismo GTR which I think is overpriced
At the same time I dont generally like american cars

Guy at my condo garage has one. White. Just sits there mostly. Honestly, i'm so used to seeing it now i'm desensitized to it and it just doesn't have that "Hey, that's an exotic" car appeal to me anymore. In fact, it's kinda dirty right now and just looks bland.
Amazing car though, and i'd love to take one for a ride.
But that corvette looks amazing.

Honestly im at the point with these 2 cars its almost a TOSS... Obviously the GTR is a TRACK DAY KILLER!!!!!!! The way its built is more for the drivers who are inexperienced but will allow them to make veteran moves. With the paddle shifters and AWD system it has with its AMAZING launch control its taken a lot of the CHANCE out of driving. If I want to break my back and feel my tummy in my mouth I can do that EVERY SINGLE TIME. If I want to hit the Apex of a turn I dont have to think I dont have to shift I point and go. In the Vette being a RWD and a manual you have to really tame the car. You have to learn the road again. IF you screw up you end up backwards. Thats just my personal opinion. Having driven the 2014 GTR and a Z06 Vette (I know they are a step down in cars) I can tell you that I like some things on the Vette more than the GTR and visa Versa. BUT If I were to be buying a car to daily drive and race at a track I would take the GTR all day long. IF I were looking for a car I would put maybe 2k miles on a year and POUND SOLELY on the track and have a more challenge on the track Vette. I hope that all makes sense.

Nismo GTR = 6:57.00
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 = 7:19.63
This is a while back:

According to fresh reports, the 2015 Corvette Z06 has run a lap time of 6:59.13 at Nurburgring, and the HD on-board video will be released “soon”.
What do we know about this run? It was done in a production 2015 C7 Z06, and the car was equipped with the Z07 aerodynamics package, along with GM’s new 8L90 eight-speed transmission. That is all the information we have at this point, but we do expect more (official) information to be released in coming weeks.
As you know, the C7 Z06 has been heavily criticized as of late, with rumors circulating that the car suffers from heat stroke, or a poorly programmed factory ECU, etc. There are also numerous videos appearing on the internet of the new Z getting beat by the likes of the SRT Viper – the C7 Z06’s primary competitor.
