Can't find door Escutcheon in my color, what can I do?
 

I've got a G35 in Blue Pearl Metallic, color code B16. Have not been able to find any website that holds these parts. I need a keyhole escutcheon cuz someone ripped mine off trying to rob it. Also need a rear bumper too in that color and it doesn't seem to exist. I guess the color got discontinued?

Your local paint supplier can likely mix those colors. I believe the local Smythe Auto Parts near me uses Sikkens paint or something, but the paint matched well when professionally painted.

It doesn't have the color. I even tried putting the missing numbers (like
80645-AM806) no dice onAmayana. I guess I am going to have to go to a prof painter, but that's going to be expensive dangit.

They have it in your color code here, another Infiniti dealer with an online shop.

Since you need a new rear bumper (you'll never find one in your color) which will need to be painted, have the body shop paint the escutcheon too! Looking for a bumper in good condition check our Marketplace under Private Classified then exterior or your local Infiniti/Nissan bone yard. Their parts system can find anything...Gary

That's medium blue, mine is pearl blue. They are different.

It says it is color code B16. That's the important part. The words are just descriptive, not determinative.

The code is B16, the part you link is 816. By that logic, the real medium blue should be 821, cuz it's code is B21, but that doesn't exist.

I'd be inclined to believe you and I could still be mistaken, but the part numbers are different (eight for B), or if there was no actual medium blue color for the car. But there is.

In that case I'd follow cleric's suggestion and call the parts counter at his link. I was just using their parts diagram to ID the part at amayama.com. Maybe it's a mixup in the diagram/descriptor. They can probably confirm the part number to the color. Then use that to do the look up on amayama. I'm just trying to give you a lead on where to find OEM parts at great prices. It's up to you to verify that it's the correct part. BTW that blue pearl is a nice color; much better to my eye than the medium blue.

Hmmm yeah now I am confused. That part he linked is the same number as the one you linked. the 816, but it does explicitly also say color code B16. I hope that is it, because then I can just order the super cheap one you linked. The only thing that gives me pause is its for 2004, I know they discontinued the blue pearl color, but I sure hope they wouldn't reuse the color code between years but have them be different colors. So a call I will do!

I think the B16 color code and the 816 part number is just coincidental. If you run down the list of #5 parts, it's a sequential number series for the various colors. I wouldn't fixate on that. Just get them to clear up the confusion between the color code and color name. Even if the B16 color piece turns out to be a different part number, once you confirm the number you can search for it at amayama. Also, you can enter your VIN at these parts sites and it will know your color and take you to the right parts (usually...sometimes the part sites aren't programmed down to that level of detail).
