On the vehicle computer as well as math calculations distance traveled/gallons to fill up
I reset the vehicle computer on every fill up and keep a spreadsheet and also do the math on every fill up

Four fill ups from NJ to Florida 1230 miles. Two fill ups with local driving while in Florida and four fill ups on the return from Florida to NJ
These results were consistent with both my 2006 G35 6 speed and my 2012 G37S 6 speed. I only use regular 87 octane and no cruise control. Never drive more than 5 mph over the limit of 65 and 70 in some places. Tires 35 lbs when cold

Best mileage on a single tankful of regular last year was a fill up in Dillon, SC at a Loves Truck Stop to another Loves Truck Stop on I95 exit 104 in Virginia a distance of 296 miles and filled up with 10.441 gallons giving me 28.35 MPG. the next fill up in NJ at my local WaWa was 295 miles and took 10.529 gallons giving me 28.01 MPG.

On my next trip to Florida I'll see what kind of MPG I'll get with my newly acquired 2016 Q70

My question was for the OP but since you responded, does the vehicle computer match your math (or 'close enough') ?

I use Fuel Buddy.

See that's what puzzles me...I drive pretty sedately in this car. Hell, people are always honking and passing me by, makes me feel old. Only time I WOT is when merging onto the highway.

An update!

I've had my Q70 for almost two months now. Only local driving with short trips and my MPG with the Q70 is no where near as low as some of those complaining about low MPG with their G's. It is however a little lower than my previous two G's but not by much.
Either it is their driving style, useless expensive mods, poor choice of cheap replacement parts or something wrong with the vehicle itself that just throwing parts at it is not going to solve.
The first result on MPG was when I reset the vehicle computer and took position of the vehicle with a little over 3500 miles. Perhaps the previous owner used premium which is recommended but results in lower MPG which is what I discovered with my previous 06 G35 6 speed and my previous 2012 G37S 6 speed?

The results of my four fill ups all on regular 87 octane. I reset the computer on every fill up.
I have not taken any road trips with the Q70 yet but will post the results later this year when I do.

My tire pressure is also carefully monitored.
Cold out this morning

^You can't compare a Q70 to a 1st gen G35.

Why not?

13 MPG on any Infiniti indicates something is wrong.

The obvious reason being, there are too many differences between both cars.

MPG best advice, don't be the first one leaving the stop sign, don't listen to the sound of your exhaust, use your cruise control whenever possible and run 37 psi in your tires! Other than that, if your only concern is MPG buy a Prius...but stay out of my lane!

Cruise control can lower MPG by 1 to 2 MPG because it needlessly automatically brakes the vehicle on downgrades. I stopped using it on long drives to Florida after reading a post on the topic years ago.

Welp, it was the MAF. Been consistently getting about 200 per tank 100/0 city/hwy and about 350 per tank 20/80 city/hwy. Even so, it's time to get rid of it after these past few months...it's reliable but feels much less composed than my other cars. Thanks for all the advice guys.

Interesting, around town I get 200 miles per tank! If I go to the track or beach and back I get very close to 300 miles from that tank...using cruise control! Guess what, I'll continue to use it when possible, works for me or I wouldn't have suggested it!

It depends on your driving style! If you're a conservative driver you're right, but if you've got a lead foot cruise control really does help.
