??- nos

it 04 6mt bought 2 year ago - no issues 100k miles

does it need to be pulled and tweaked for huge upgrades and F.I. or is there bolt ons and chips
►being im late to "G" enthusiast and everyone that has been thru the process and what works and what does not. i see sooo many after market parts.

Are you talking about 350-400 WHEEL horsepower WHP or just adding +50 +100 hp over stock ('04 non rev-up is rated 280 brake hp BHP)

If you are just looking to add +50 BHP over stock you can achieve those numbers pretty easily with full breather and exhaust +tune.

It gets you around 280whp with the OEM headers and cams, if you are looking for 350 WHP you can get that by using the Vortech supercharger on an OEM engine +tune. If you want 400WHP you're going to need the full breather mods and exhaust along with the vortech.

However if you are going forced induction I would STRONGLY recommend you start with a fresh rebuild, boosting a car that already has 100k on it will realistically only get you about 50k more miles.

YMMV

great - not trying to go crazy - like the idea of reliable power / adding a kick to make little more fun as i am used to V8s in my past rides.

not sure i will tackle the headers - seem like alot of pain inmy @$$G305$$ without much gain. But will definitely check out the rest.

Stillen kit comes to mind. CARB approved, reliable, 320ish WHP (based on charts i've seen here), and you don't really need anything else.

G's are slow, if you're used to V8s you could spend 10k on this car and it still won't make as much power as a 6.0 LS truck motor with heads and a cam.

Headers are a lot like cams, they just shift WHERE it makes peak power.

I am not worried about he hood. I have a fibergalss one and I am very good at modifying F.G. and doing my own paint work or carbon lays.
thanks gain.

Could be cheap ALT!!! . . . .. but probably not very reliable for a stock motor.

Looking at the tall spacer, K&N intake, and borla exhaust and high flow cats from what i found relative in the board so far. . .
, O -tune tooo.

My understanding is that the tall spacer gives you slightly more total horsepower, but the 5/16" spacer gives you better power development in the usable bandwidth. I ultimately chose the 5/16" spacer.

Yes- that is my understanding on a system with no other mods - makes sense.

This is basically what I have. 3/8" spacer, MREV2 lower plenum, test pipes, Borla dual exhaust, crappy short ram intake and a Z1 tune. All this was done prior to my obtaining the car. This is on my 2004 G35 coupe project car. I gave my son my other bone stock 2004 G35 coupe. The felt power difference is significant. It is fun to drive. I had a 95 Z28 with a bolt on LT1 making just over 300 whp and 350 wtq, and my G would definately squeeze out the W. The Z was a torque monster all of its power from 2000 to 4000 rpms. The G is just coming to life where the Z starts to fall off.
