Driver window won’t roll back up

Hi guys, new G owner here. I’m kinda stuck. So my driver window is stuck down and when I click the button up it makes a weird ticking noise and sounds like it’s glitching out. So I just replaced the control switch and it still makes that sound. What are my options now? Thank you

Time to take the door panel apart and either find the problem or replace the window motor. Common problem on the Gs.

My driver's side window rolls down by itself, and when this is happening makes the same ticking noise (the motor reversing directions rapidly) if I try to roll it back up.

This is due to iffy wiring in my door, and I can "fix" the problem by going over some potholes or stopping the car and opening the door all the way before rolling up the driver's window. I've got a power kill switch in place to "lock" the window up until I have another reason to take the door panel apart. Have you tried messing with the door and finding a place where the motor works? The wires in the door get repeatedly stressed in the same way and just break over time.

If your motor runs it could be the regulator went bad. I've replaced a ton of them on my Audi, but haven't had one on the G go bad yet. I did have to replace my driver side motor once so far, but either way that door panel has to come off.

Theres a reprogram feature for the window motor. Thats what u might need. Google it.

yea it used to roll up if I opened my door but I won’t do it anymore. If. Anything I’ll just get a new motor and see what happens from there. Thanks for your response guys

Before you go spending more money there are a couple of things you can try. A lot of members have had success taking the motor out and apart and cleaning the brushes. They can get dirty/gummed up causing them to work intermittently. And there's always the reset procedure: https://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/gco..._procedure.php

Then there's this thread which has a lot of helpful info: https://g35driver.com/forums/body-in...l-removal.html If you'll take a couple of minutes to search for issues like this either with the search function or Google, my search took .06 seconds lol, you'll often get your answers quickly rather than starting a new thread then waiting for responses. Plus doing some work on your own to answer questions is a forum rule. ;)

If it used to roll up when you opened the door, it's the wiring. You need to take the door apart and find where the wiring is broken and solder it back together.

I have a similar problem. My driver side window rolls up and down just fine, except if it's rolled all the way down it takes quite a few tries pulling the switch until it finally rolls back up. I have a feeling that it's just a bad motor, but it does nothing else weird besides that.

Could you not just tape it up with electrical tape?

Not if it's a coupe.
