G35 won't start!!! Need some help?!
Hey guys,
I have an 2005 G35 COUPE overheating could possibly have a bad radiator, but Im curious why won't the car turn over? there's plenty of battery life...Let me know what you guys think. Any suggestions? |
So it cranks? But doesnt start?
Any check engine lights? |
Does it even TRY to start or is there nothing.
Verify NATS/IVIS isn't interlocking the ignition, if the security light on the dash is solid red when cranking then NATS/IVIS is the problem. |
I was closer this morning i believe I turn the key press the gas it wants to turn over. at first I thought it was the battery terminal not tightened so not enough power but earlier I tried and the lights flickered and It kept making click noises. Im not sure if its the starter or a fuse?
Click noises usually means dead battery.
im recharging the battery rn then ill try again and try what you recommended the interlocking the ignition. I know the maintaince light is on but I changed out the fluids on the car anti freeze, and did a oil a change. I drove it down the street when I parked the car I looked under the hood and there was white powder by the radiator could that be a reason?
What do you mean "maintenance light" do you mean the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?
If so that means the ECM has detected a problem and is literally telling you what is wrong but the only way to see what it's found is to plug in an OBD2 scanner and read the code it's sent. |

when I try to start the car it cranks but it won't turn over.. I'm thinking maybe its the crank shaft sensor going bad?
Have you put it on an OBD2 scanner to see what code it was throwing? It's probably telling you exactly what the problem is.
I haven't tried that yet once I get off work I'll head to auto zone and purchase one of those and go from there.. thanks.
I agree it does sound like the crank sensor though, you may or may not have a code stored for it. If you do replace it make sure you use a Hitachi or Genuine Nissan sensor, call your local Nissan dealership because apparently the latest revision sensor is reasonably priced at around $70 right now.
so I got an OBD2 Sensor and its telling me the "FUEL RAIL PRESSURE LOWER THAN EXPECTED". ?
Order the fuel damper sandwich adapter from Z1 Motorsports so you can put a gauge on it to see what pressure is.
Fuel pump is probably toast then.
