Buying another g35 for winter....

Living in Canada it's going to be tough to drive my G Coupe in winter and actually I want to keep it as mint as possible. I'm thinking of buying a 2005-2007 G35 X Sedan for about 5 grand CAD just for winter. Anything I should be looking for in particular when buying one of these? Looking for low mileage for sure. Dont know much about the sedans. Anyone else own 2 Gs?

There's nothing special to look for, just the standard inspection points. Rust, any leaks, CEL light on, unusual tire wear, modded or not, any previous maintenance records yada yada. I will suggest you get a pre-purchase inspection done by a trusted mechanic before any money changes hands.

I violated that concept with my latest car BUT it was a one owner car purchased, maintained and traded in at the same dealership over the 10 years the PO had it. Every service record (24) was in the Carfax report and the car looked/ran like new both inside and out.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'm going to buy a FX35 AWD. I saw a 2004 with 110KM for sale with the tech package for $7000 CAD.

I love the first gen FX's. Super sexy and a little more room than a G sedan.

Yeah I've been trying to convince myself to buy an Infiniti SUV too, in-laws picked up a 2013 JX35 (changed name to QX60 a year later), same platform as the Pathfinder but this thing is VERY nice on the inside and had great ride quality and a very nice feeling CVT. I've been inside one of the 2016+ restyled ones and those are a pure luxury SUV with all the modern bells and whistles.

If I recall the sales figures, it was pretty much the vehicle that kept Infiniti afloat for a few years.

FX's sound the best from the factory too.

I'm so mad that dude from Audi changed all the Infiniti names.

In his defense it was a completely convoluted mess of a naming system to begin with. Cars need NAMES not some alphanumeric code, at least the new system makes sense.

Yes but the G and FX were starting to get some recognition and traction.
