Bat's Overlays?
 

I've been reading up and searching for more info on Bat's headlamp overlays. Since his website is done I can't find too much info, only pictures. And the threads I've read talk more about installation issues.

Can someone talk about the advantages of using the overlays? Are these for protection as well as looks? I read a thread where someone mentioned a cracked lamp. Would these protect against rock chips and the sort. Thanks for the info!

I bought mine for looks. I don't know exactly how much protection they would offer since they are just pieces of vinyl. I am sure they can protect against scratches and would be chips caused by rocks and such, but I am not sure they can protect against cracking.
