You can find great deals on 19" tires on ebay 400-500 for the set. Or if you shop around on craigslist you can get used with tires for one hell of a deal. Even G37 19"s with tires for under 1500 are not a rare sight

G35"Driver"... Not G35"Ricers"...

Although, I am getting a catch tank and the only other mod I did was the JDM battery cover. Not really into body kits and warm air intakes.
So anyone who modifies his car is called a ricer? Wow i feel sorry for you....

Very ironic how you try to call people who mod ricers, but you're getting a "JDM Battery cover", let me guess, is it adding 20hp to your car like they told you

as far as the decal, its was ricey, the meaning behind it turned out to be even more ricey, but my point was you don't have a "hellaflush" car(again a good thing) so the illest sticker didn't even belong there

I'm probably going to get 18" bbs's or something along those lines at some point, like I said I don't want to deal with 19 inch tires between the price, weight and the ride quality, on the other hand all that they will do is make my car slower and ride worse

18 bbs will cost more than 19's depending on brand name.

19 inch tires are only 5% thinner wall than 18's. Not much of difference in ride quality, nothing you'll notice at all.

oem 19's weigh less than oem 18's.. go figure

that's all.

feeling sorry for him is a bit much i think

I agree with you on the jdm battery cover thing though, if your car is bone stock why start there?

that's all.

It's not all about the price. Assuming you keep the car for a long time replacing 19" tires every 2 or 3 years could be more costly also.

as for ride quality, the difference between say a 275/35-19 and a 275/40-18 would be noticable i bet

also every now and then I go to the drag strip and the more sidewall the better over there, my 255/45-17s hook up great.

I used to like the OEM coupe 18s but after seeing them on sedans I think they flow much better with the coupe, the rays 19s do look a lot better on the sedan.

Idk I'm in financial limbo right now so it depends what happens to my company.

I had a chance to buy some clearance bronze nimso LMGT4s, 4 fronts for $800 on ebay, i believe they were 18x8.5 +20, I had an RSX at the time and i figured I could just run them w/o the nismo stickers, but I had wasted too much money on that car already between 5 sets of rims, 2 sets of coilovers, kpro, etc etc...I really wish I had just bought them, I didn't realize how good of a deal it was at the time...then again i don't think bronze LMGT4s would look all that great on my car

yup, the 19s are about 5lbs heavier then what I have now though

weight matters, I had a set of rota sub zeros 17x7.5 on my rsx, about 17lbs i think and my friend had a mazdaspeed3 with oem 18s which are probably about 24 lbs, he threw my 17s on just the front and gained .5mph in his trap speed, although the tires were also much shorter then his so it shortened his gearing too..most bolt ons won't give you .5mph in your trap speed.

I've had LEDs in for over a year without a single failure, and my non-stock intake not only produces more power, but runs cooler than stock. You can buy cheap LEDs that burn out, and you can buy certain intakes that match the one you described, but only an idiot would do that. You seem to equate all items from a mod group with the worst item from that group. Some LEDs burn out so ALL LEDs burn out. Some intakes increase heat soak so ALL non-stock intakes increase heat soak. Some suspension drops make the car unusable so ANY suspension drop is bad. You've shown in multiple posts now that you simply don't know what you're talking about. I think G2FLIP4 described you perfectly.

EDIT: I'm 44 and have a mild suspension drop (Coupe F/Sedan Sport R) and a brake upgrade (OEM 05+) sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Age is how you feel, and you sound old and crotchety.
i bought my used g35 for $20k-ish, a used 2008 g37 goes for $30k, a 2001 911 turbo goes for $40k-ish, , and a used 2009 gt-r goes for $60k-ish. if you're going to put only the top quality mods in your g35, you're going to spend at least $10,000 after labour (even if you do it yourself, you gotta factory in opportunity cost -- the time you spent install them vs the time you could have spent doing something more productive). i highly doubt you're going to make your g35 better than a g37 with some bolt-ons. you might be able to make it more highly customized towards your likings -- but it certainly wont be outperforming a g37 sport in any category, nor will it look as nice (personal opinion) and it definitely wont be as reliable.

define "better"

im sure you can make a g35 faster then a g37 pretty easily...probably make it louder at the same time though...less reliable only if you boost it, bolt ons dont really do much to reliability. 370z is another story because its actually sort of light

(bold lines)

going back to tires.. 18 inch tires can cost more than 19 inch tires. Having 19's doesn't mean you have to purchase the exact oem 19's that came with the car. And depending on brand and type of tire you're purchasing plays a major role on price than size. So a performance 18 tire can cost way more than an economy 19. so it really doesn't matter between the two.

as for the track. You'll see guys with smaller wheels to have a larger side wall, but remember thats for track use only, and most of the 17's or any other optional sized tires are usually slick tires. And those racers are racing for time not what their daily driver street look vehicle can do.

so stating 19's oem or aftermarket cost more in the long run is false. It all depends on how the owner chooses to spend and what type of "hook Up" that person has.

yeah but i don't want an economy 19 and I don't want a 35 series tire

comparing an economy 19 to a performance 18 is comparing apples to oranges..im sure there are 19" tires i could have bought which cost less than my 17" conti dw's

i mean you basically wrote 2.5 paragraphs about nothing there

take a Potenza RE050A

275/35-19 from tirerack $290 each
275/40-18 $272 each

so thats an extra $72 on 4 tires but more importantly the 18s aren't usless, bumpy rubberbands

sure they have some $206 hankooks and im sure if you look around find much cheaper stuff, but i dont want cheap tires, tires > wheels
