Ketch's Ride & Install

Hey, just an update on Ketch's (Charles) install this afternoon. Got to PJ's at around 1ish, and we installed his OEM wing, OEM front lip, crawford upper plenum, NISMO cold air intake setup and the Stillen grounding wires, in about 4 hours and change. The wing and lip were a breaze to install. The crawford intake had a leak on the first attemp, found out the inner (not used 4 center bolts) were the culprits. After getting them down nice and tight, problem was fixed and engine was running strong again. The NISMO CAI setup was also pretty easy, just time consuming with all those pipes, clamps and whatnot (not to mention the tight area in which you have to work the air filter into behind the front bumper), and last but not least, the Stillen grounding wires. Although Stillen's instructions were pretty bad, we managed to find some decent grounding points to which to mount everything too and keep the wires free and clear from harm. All in all it was a pretty productive day. Hope Charles enjoys his new mods!

PS: Charles got some stuff he wants to sell, such as an extra NISMO CAI kit, OEM lip and more. PM him to find out more, and lets get these stuff off his hands!

Hope you don't mind, I snagged them right after we finished the last two bolts on the front lip... By the way, how's everything running? With the intake setup, did you notice any performance gains on the ride back home? Wing still on (just kidding)... If and when you get the exhaust, you know who to call.... DucatiGuy's "Chop-Shop" at your service 24/7!

There was a little drilling, to the tune of about 10 holes, 6 of which we're EIGHTEEN MILLIMETERS! Yes you heard me correctly, 18mm (the size of almost a quarter)! Infiniti has designed this "snap ring" setup where you need to drill out these HUGE holes in which you plug in special plastic snap rings to which the wing "snaps" into. There's actually only 3 "real" bolts that hold the wing down, the rest are just plastic snap rings and 3M double stick tape. The install itself wasn't hard, the wing came with a paper template and all, but drilling quarter size holes into someones else trunk lid is always a litte nerve racking...
