For those who have haze on their headlamp housing
My car's headlamp housing started to have this haze which looks like dirt. If yours is completely messed up, forget it cuz it's a lost cause. But for those who don't have it or who are starting to experience it like me, apply wax everytime you wash it. Although it's plastic, the sun's uv rays are beating it down and applying wax will protect it.

Did you try Mothers shine ball and polish? Is it on the inside or outside?
|
for cloudy headlights i use this plexiglass stuff. works like a charm and restores headlights to almost new. costs like 4-7 bucks from kragen/pepboys etc
mine is made by bluemagic |
interesting...yeah i have some starting on both lights right in front of the top HID (06). I only have 3200 miles and i see it already starting at night. its frustrating. I think its on the outside though because when i press my knuckle on to it and scrape it clears a line. But no cleaners seem to work. Ill have to try to look for it in stores...i tried different glass cleaners but no luck. so youre saying a plexiglass cleaner?

its made by bluemagic and called "Plastic & Plexiglass Cleaner and Light Scratch Remover"
actually..i dont think they have it at kragen. kragen has some other brand..but i usually get it from autozone for the cheapest. this should work too.. http://www.meguiars.com/?clear-plast...Cleaner-Polish |

for some reason the meguiars plastx made my headlights look kind of white when turned on, you can see where the plastx was applied, when turned off they look nice and clear though

I noticed a slight pearlescent look to the cloudiness that has popped up on mine. It seems like it might be related to soap residue drying on the housing. I try to avoid that while washing, but I'm usually paying more attention to the paint. I don't apply it directly, but I also rub over them when removing Zaino's Z8.
I have a set of headlights that I'm going to black-out. I've recently thought about having the plastic covers painted with a clearcoat, to seal/protect them better and so that waxing is good/beneficial for them. Any thoughts or anyone done this? I'm looking for an alternative to the 3M-film approach. |
just get new lights and apply some clearbra film :)

Mothers plastic polish... $5, works on the tail lights too :)

people are talking about all these waxes for the fogging up on the headlights....isnt the fog happening inside the headlights?
|
no i'ts on the outside.I have the same prob.also, and just use regular car wax and that seems to work fine.It would be bad news if the fog was building up on the inside!
