Tein Comfort vs Tein Basic
Im looking into getting a set of coilovers for my 03 coupe. I cant really find a good write up on the Tein comforts so i wanted to see if anyone could help me out. I dont track the car alot, but i do like to corner hard wile also maintaining that smooth ride. The comforts are said to provide a pretty smooth ride while the basics are said to keep the stock ride as well.
Does anyone know which coilover set is better? Basicly i want to know which one will allow me to corner alot harder than the factory 03 coilovers. And also which one will allow me to maintain a smooth ride as well.

Tein CS will not perform a whole lot better than stock, even on its stiffest setting. Its really good for comfort though and being able to adjust your ride etc.
BASIC is more stiff than CS is, so it might before a little better. But then its not gonna be as comfortable for the daily drive. And its not damping force adjustable, so you can't soften it up for daily and stiffen it up for track.
Have you considered Tein SS? It's cheaper than CS and IMO the perfect setup for street with occasional track use. Its stiffer than BASIC or CS on its stiffest seting, but softer than BASIC on its softest setting. So still comfortable for the daily grind, but a performer when needed. Only downside is you gotta wait 2-3mo. to get it from Japan, since its not available to the US market.

CS, SS and FLEX are all compatible with the EDFC.

the edfc lets u ecltrinicly chnage ur susp by a push of a button wihtin ur car while driving..u can harden and soften it to ur likeing...u can have it set for racing or on soft for thos elong trips..but i like the tein flex the best so far

woah i have no idea what the guy above me was trying to say but check some of my threads. i have had both cs and flex with edfc. if i could do it all over again i wouldve gone with hks rs+ even though they dont have an edfc option. feel free to pm me with any more questions!

I really love the EDFC unit, especially in our car. On other top-adjustable coilover systems, the rear cannot be adjusted without removing the coilover from the car. This makes it a hassle to fine tune to the proper setting you like the most. And then change back and forth between diffrent settings.

i highly recommend it if you get a kit that can accept it.
The Tein SS with EDFC seems like a great choice. However, being a newb at suspension mods, what kind of concerns are there? For example, alignment (especially at differing stiffness settings), wear and tear on the stock struts, and tirewear.
You don't need an alignment with diffrent damping force settings. There is no wear and tear on the stock struts, cuz they will not be used anymore. Tirewear will not be effected.
i am a noobie here... but i know that on some Tein models there is an upper pillow mount. can i make camber adjustments using the upper pillow mount instead of buying camber kits?
