Here is a suggestion. Find someone who owns the SE-R and someone else that owns the G35 and convince them to race each other so u can watch.

Funner567 12-13-2006 01:22 AM

one of my friends friends has a altima SER ill see the next time we meet if he wants to race...even though im not MT...it be a race...but im pretty sure a G would win

tekknikal 12-13-2006 01:35 AM

i know someone with one.

its not a big difference but in a straight line, the G will win, assuming equal drivers

RWD vs FWD the G can launch as well as -if not better than the SER.
the se-r will do well through 60 but after that the G's gearing becomes more agressively spaced. through all gears the G has more agressive gearing as well as more HP and TQ. The Altima has less weight, but its not enough to overcome these differences.

NOTE that if you come across someone who really knows what they're doing (moreso than you) its entirely possible that they could pull on you to the point where at any sane speed you won't catch up.

NOTE also that the above is based on my experiences and research on the two cars and that by G I am only referring to one like mine - 04 6MT Coupe with Z-Tube. The SE-R is manual (cant remember if the intake had been installed by then or not). Outside of those conditions, I cannot comment.

it will be close if you're auto.. but a 6spd should def take it

DRoQ 12-13-2006 01:37 AM

the SER is honestly a cow.

i ran 2 diff se-r. both kids i work with, one has it worked and the other was just a cai. The se-r's hold up very well against our cars...the only place we really win is the launch..from roles its actually almost a dead even race believe it or not. I raced on of the kids the very first day i had my G, therefore i didnt really know how to drive the car that great yet, and we were completly dead even until 5th gear then i pulled on him...(yes 5th gear). Once i learned the car though i eat altima se-rs from the launch like its no tomorow.
