What's wrong here....18' coupe
 

Hey everyone-
I have a 04 coupe with performance wheels and tires package. I dont know why my front tires tend to wear on the inner side? I took to the aligment shop and they couldn't find anywrong with it, my tire manager told me because it's normal for this kind of car, a better corner turn would wear out the inner side faster?:o that dont make any sense since the whole car is just new but the inner side is wear out faster than the whole tire...anyone have any feedback or solution? thanks

ps. Yeah, I know! my solution now is pick the straight highway and no turn streets! hmmmm:p

I have the same issue with my 04 coupe as well, i recently got rims for it too and i hope it doesnt keep doing it, i have taken it to the dealer and the alignment shops and they both have said its due to the alignment but yet when they fix the alignment it still does it, oh yea does your car make a noise when you go about 20-25mph coming from the front near the tires???

I am pretty sure it is due to the camber. Our wheels sit in a little at the top, causing more wear on the inside of the tires. //===\\

Yeah, walk about 20 feet away from the rear of your car and look down the side of the car, the front have a few degrees of negative camber making for nice corners but a little extra wear on the tires on the inside.

If we know what is it, was there a solution for this camber? or I would have to live with it as long I own the car! hmmmm

I know there are camber kits you can get, but Ive never looked at them to know if they correct this or not. It is something I accept as part of owning the car (along with short brake life), as it does make the car perform better in turns. If I wanted long lasting tires and brakes and high gas mileage, I wouldve gone with something else, these damn cars arent cheap on upkeep ;)

..."these damn cars aren't cheap on upkeep", you got that right! Have no idea why my gf got her 07 G sedan! now it's double aren't cheap!:)

I have the same exact problem too. Now when I take exit ramps off the freeways that are in shapes of a "loop" my slip light keeps coming on and my abs keeps kicking in. Pretty scary feeling.

If your car is tracking and or pulling bad, you need to replace your tires and be sure the alignment is in spec. I don't know if the 2005's were different, but my front tires have lasted 40,000 miles with no alignment and they are wearing pretty even for a car with negative camber in the front, so if your's are that bad, they are either very cheap tires or something is not in spec.

I don't have this problem at all! I keep watching my tires for uneven wear
and don't see anything unusual. Having been in the alignment/brake
business I know what to look for. When your tires are being worn on the
inside and they tell you it's normal say very loud "BullSh!t" because it is!!
Find an alignment shop that knows what their doing..........

sounds like your toe is screwed up. Have them align your car again.

it's toe not chamber. He shouldn't have a chamber problem unless he has lowered his car. A simple alignment should do the trick.

The G is supposed to be toe out for better handling. Yours may be worse than factory spec, but the coupe will always wear more on the insides of the fronts. Personally, I would take it to the dealer just to make sure it's not excessive.
