I can't believe this dealership...charged for adjustment???

i have an 03 coupe, and i brought my car in to a dealership due to several reasons:

1.rattling in the sun roof
2.rattling in the doors
2.back passenger seat armrest was loose (fell apart)

they got back to me and said that tightening screws and making adjustments should be charged?!?!?!?, but they said the only thing they charged was the adjustment for the sun roof liner. he charged me $25 for the ADJUSTMENT. it's not a lotta money, but it's the principles that matter.

the dealership basically said they would charge on adjustments after 12months and 12,000 on a new car. i'm a lil confused what the warrenty is all about now.

another thing is for the rear arm rest on the side (loosened), they said they can't fix it back in, and it's not covered under warrenty.. is that true???

what do you guys think?

much thanks

exactly, stealership, and it pisses me off how they rip ppl off like that.

i know it's a small thing but do u think i should call infiniti to ask if it's legit to charge 25 on adjustmetns and if they could fix or replace the real armrest if my cars under warrenty?

if ur warranty is up they're going to rape u w/ charges so thats normal

if ur warranty isnt up, find a diff dealer

That sucks but at least it is fixed

BadBoy06 Feb 2, 2007 12:54 PM

no suprise with stealerships

I would take it to the manager. It's called a bumper-to-bumper warranty for a reason. If they still give you crap, go to another dealer or contact infiniti. My dealer has never done anything like that and has even given me replacement parts they should have charged me for.

rattles and adjustments are no problem getting serviced at the 12k 1 year mark, afterwards its up to the service tech and writer if you get them covered. all you guys who don't take care of your service tech this is what happens. when they replaced my 3rd trans they installed another clutch for free, i slipped the service tech a few bills for his help. afterwards he replaced 6 other major components under warranty before they expired.

They need to make money somehow. I was shocked to learn that their sales departement actually don't make them a lot money (net after fees and comissions). Most of their profit is from servicing the cars.

+1. This service should be free.

g35rcr Feb 2, 2007 02:43 PM

12k miles, and again if they like you they will take care of it, but you have to throw them something every once in a while if you want some freebees your way
