What Year Coupe To Get?!!? Plz Help!!

SO..iam graduating in may and i wanna get a friggin sweet car that i rightfully deserve...so i am lookin for a g35 but i have no clue what year to get. I am not sure if i want the bremboes since i've heard they are hella expensive to maintain/repair. I really want the blue tooth system (is that 06 and newer only?) and that's pretty much about it, i have around 50K cdn to spend but i'd rather not spend it all on a car...kinda retarded if u ask me, so gonna go used for sure...so iam asking for all you experienced peepz to guide me in the right direction, which year is the best and whyyy?! Thanks!!!

-NooBie.

06..
I had an 05.. upgraded interior but no bluetooth..
plus 06 6mt has the upgrade body + projector headlights..

The latest one?

If you have the money, then why would you even consider getting an older year?

Get an 06+

Are you graduating from a College/University?

get an 06 used for sure.. no questions asked

whatever you do.. don't get -03-04

06 with 04 brembos, tail lights and rear wing, I think that would be the ultimate Gcoupe. They are all slow so just get what looks good to you.

BTweee 02-05-2007 12:45 AM

yea i graduate in may from the canadian equivalent of westpoint...so i dont have any college debt...feels pretty good. This whole car shopping thing is so friggin stressful, i thought it'd be fun, but right now iam so torn over what to buy! You guys said 06 for sure eh...and what do u mean by 06 with the 04 brembos? just strip 'em from an old G and throw 'em in? I heard they were crappy and aren't even necessary for day to day driving, i doubt i'd take it on the track to race...so why do i need performance brakes?!?! i heard servicing was like 2grand or so just for labor!? thx for everyone's input so far! and iam reluctant to buy brand new b/c of the huge price depreciation...ya iam cheap like that! haha.

i was in the same situation as you. i went with the 05 because it was a huge upgrade from the previous versions and a lot cheaper then the 07.

Skaterbasist 02-05-2007 12:49 AM

The 05-07 G35 coupe's brakes are just as good as the 03-04 Brembos.

It's tough isnt it... getting a new ride?

The whole process can be a pain, but once you have it, you'll see how much it was worth it :)

you have no clue! (well u might..) buddy, i have dreams of buying/settling on an acura rsx (to save money) and then i find myself waking up screaming..."NOOOOO, what'd i doOO!?" you know it's bad when you have nightmares over car shopping.

Skaterbasist 02-05-2007 12:54 AM

One thing you never do is buy something you're gonna regret or not be happy with.

If your aiming at a G35, and end up with an RSX... You are not gonna be happy.

Goodluck on the whole process and check back with us when you get it :)

Second hand cars are hella expensive in Canada. I bought mine for 41k plus tax (13% tax in BC) and it was a 04 with 35k on it. It was considered as a "not too bad of a deal". So if you are considering 05 and up, prepare to pay at least 41k+. I would personally get 05 though, but you wont have much money left to mod the car. Since you live in Toronto, go import one from the states. You save at least 10 grand.

happy hunting :)

05+

Canadian 02-05-2007 01:08 AM

Wait for the 08...

Calvin 02-05-2007 01:10 AM

fvck the 08 ;)

it's overrated
