Pro's & Con's, 2003/2004

Hey There,
I've had major problems - that I will explain later, after resolution..... However, I'm wondering. I purchased an 03 that I loved - but now am looking at a replacement with an 04 simply because the 03 I had isn't available any longer...
Are there significant changes in the 04's. I haven't seen this one yet. I have no time for real research, so, does anyone have any info to share on the pro's/con's of the 03 vs 04?

Slight price increase and the addition of a tire pressure monitor. Twilight Blue also available. That's all I can think of.
Hope you have better luck getting your '04.

Thanks......
The dealer ruined my 03 and is looking at an 04 as a replacement. They also mention I will be responsible for an additional x per month on the loan. I don't know if they can really do this or not since my loss is due to their negligence. I'm still in shock over the loss of my 03! I don't know how it will all work out in the end.

04 coupe has nicer looking armrest, metal things on tires, a little bit higher cost, more value. Tire pressure WARNING system, no aluminum pedals standard. I think thts it.

Re: Pro's & Con's, 2003/2004

Hasn't the armrest thing been put to bed yet? NO NEW ARMREST ON 2004! The 6MT got a new console/armrest in 2003.5. The 5AT stayed the same. So, the 2003 5AT same, the 2003.5 6MT same. Some of us with 2003 6MTs have upgraded the console to the new one.

The metal things on the tires are the valves. on 2003s they were rubber, they are now metal.

Hi GGAL,

Sorry to hear about your car getting ruined.
I suggest you contact your insurance company and let them know what happened. If that doesn't work to get a complete repalcement, find a lawyer!

...if we are talking about a couple bucks, then who cares. If the amount is significant and it was the dealer's responsibility for your loss, I would find out why they think your responsible for an increased replacment cost caused by their error.

Well, it's a long story, and when I actually have a car in my possession I'll be better able to tell it.
There's issues with 'acid rain', and the fact that the dealership ran into something with my rear bumper - AND they totally messed up my roof trying to repair a hairline scratch that was there when I bought it... whew! All this when it went in for the 1st oil change.

Thanks (to everyone who has replied)!

The money issue is yet to be worked, initially they were talking between $1,500 - 2,000 more on the loan...
Once we get to the bottom line - I'll let everyone know the details.

Re: Pro's & Con's, 2003/2004

i see, well those issues sound cosmetic in nature to me. Suprising, a new/replacment vehicle would be offered by a dealership for damage of that type. $1500 - 2k is a lot, but it might be worth it.

Re: Pro's & Con's, 2003/2004

If you saw the vehicle you would not want to drive/pay for it for the next 5 years..... It looks terrible. Such a dissapointment. The only other alternative would be to repaint the entire vehicle. I'm not up for paying $40K for a car that has to be totally repainted.
I love the G though - I can't wait to have this resolved. This car is the most beautiful, and the best handling vehicle I've been in since my 69 Pontiac Firebird convertible!

Actually...the metal valves on the tires are part of the tire-pressure warning system.
