I'm Finally One of You

Hey guys, been lurking for a few weeks. As of yesterday, it's official! I picked up an '07 OB 6MT, and am having a blast driving it around. Because my tall *** doesn't fit with a sunroof, I got the base model (only options are splash guards and trunkmat). Now time to spend the rest of my bank account on mods.... ;)

UnluckyCharms Feb 25, 2007 11:54 PM

Yea, you get 3 extra inches of headroom without the sunroof.

Damn right on going to Candy Mountain! Went riding in Malibu this morning for a few hours, then took to car out the play this afternoon. Life is freakin excellent!

If you do not have a sunroof, you have around 2-3 inches of extra headroom. My coupe doesn't have one, and although there have been a few times I have wanted to crack back the sunroof...there are many more times I'm glad I have that extra headroom.

I think it also takes @ 18 lbs off the weight, as a small plus.

Its a little bigger then a small plus due to that fact of were the 18 pounds is located. Its prob more then 18 lbs to.. And how tall are you I'm 6'4 and don't have a prob sitting in coupes

ditto im 6'4 as well and have ALOT of headroom..even when i don't keep the seat the the lowest

sublim3 Feb 26, 2007 12:21 AM

im only 6 ft, but it just feels more roomy than one w/sunroof imo... either way, its a non-issue.

I'm in Los Angeles, CA (hence the motorcycle in Malibu comment).

The sunroof mechanism takes up more room, in terms of thickness, than a standard roof. Because of this, the headliner is dropped 3 inches lower WITH a sunroof. I'm 6'2"/6'3", but I have to throw the seat way back to not have my head scrape. This position isn't comfortable for long trips, or for any sort of proper driving position (esp. with a manual). I must be a freak or something, but I can practically touch my skull to the headliner when I sit up straight in a coupe with the sunroof. And yes, that's with the seat fully lowered, tilted back, slid most of the way back, and the back reclined a decent amount... Maybe I'll rename myself circus freak...
