Friend's Coupe
 

I rode in my friends 03 coupe and its very noisy, it has a lot of droning. Is this common? Mines doesn't drone or its not as loud per say, but anyone have this?

oh sorry, mines is stock 05. his is 03. both are 6mt. i didn't ask him about it, because he might think im implying mines better. haha. :) his car look stock but i didn't ask him what kind of mods he has.

figure that out first.

Do both 03' and 05's have the same suspension pkg?

Mine has a little drone at 75, but it goes away by th time I hit 90 mph. Definitely not stock.

my buddy has a 05 6mt and i can significantly tell the road noise and just the overall shietty ambience in my car. I have a 03 6mt. We both have very close to the same mods, i.e. spacer, exhaust, wheels. I don't know when they started but I have a feeling that 03 vs 05, Infiniti dampened the car much better.

Hence, I'm looking into 'shooter' 's thread about dampening the car =)

My '04 Coupe has gotten louder in the past year and a half or so(23K miles on it now). I think the exhaust system just starts to wear a bit and loses some of the sound deadening qualities. I don't consider it a bad thing at all.... In fact I love it and wish it was louder. It's almost like a free aftermarket exhaust. :)


I've had a few people I work with see me pull in and ask me what kind of exhaust I have on the car, because they say it's really loud. I don't think it really is LOUD, per say.... just loud in comparison to most other stock exhausts. It helps if you have a Z-tube and high-flow intake too.
