06 G35 Coupe driver's seat. Same story with 07?

I just bought a 2006 G35 Coupe and am at my wit's end. I love everything about the car except the driver's seat.

I am 6'1", 230 pounds, and the right side bolster and seat controls are causing a sharp pain in my right thigh that radiates up to my lower back. I did not experience this pain during the two extensive test drives that I took. However, it's been a different story the last couple of days during my relatively short commute to work.

I am considering perhaps trying out the 2007 G35 Coupe. Does anyone know if the problems that folks have experienced with the narrow seats and right side bolster and seat controls were resolved by Infiniti for 2007?

In the alternative, I may take my car to an auto uphostery shop to see what modification(s) they can make to improve comfort. Any suggestions in Austin, Texas? What modification(s) have those of you that have taken this route found most helpful? Any photos?

Many thanks.

You should look into the new sedan which i think the seats are more comfortable.

I would think that bolster can be taken a part and worked;)

if you check your bmi, you're technically obese. no offense, but I think you might wanna consider a much more "roomy" car.

No offense taken. However, I don't believe that losing weight will solve my problem. I simply have pretty muscular legs that are probably much thicker than what the engineers had in mind when they decided to place the seat controls on the inside bolster.

Well, I was in the 08 Sedan and I can tell you, those damn controls on the side are hard to get to. I have decent size hands (larger then normal Japanese engineers hands maybe?) and it can barely fit in the sides to get to the controls. Also, where the hell are the seat warmer buttons on the sedan?

lol if you can't find em maybe you don't have heated seats...

redwillow Mar 31, 2007 06:51 PM

forum search dude....this is a known problem with this car, ask your dealership about this:

The 08 Sedan I had was a loaner, so if the buttons aren't there, maybe it's an option now? I thought heated seats were standard in the 08 like it is in our model?

I'm surprised this topic hasn't been moved yet. Doesn't it pertain to the Interior Section?
