Which Coupe to get
Well if you didnt read my thread in the lounge, I was hit and my car totaled.
https://g35driver.com/forums/lounge-off-topic/152770-g-go-bye-bye.html
I had 2006 IP coupe 5AT
Now now I'm looking at two different coupes:
1. Black/Black 2006 G35 Coupe $31,600
-Fully loaded + Navi
-9,600 Miles
-6 MT
Only downside is its located in Arizona and I'm in California.
2. Black/Black 2006 G35 Coupe - $31,000
-Fully Loaded + Navi
-18,000 miles
-5AT
Local, but I was getting excited for the 6MT
My Dad doesn't feel comfortable buying something from out of state. But I really wanted a MT. Since I'm not paying for it I cant really decide on my own so I guess what I'm asking is how do I convince my dad that buying out of state is not a bad idea Then again I should just shut up and be happy I'm getting another car.
Question 1 - how do I convince my dad
Question 2 - is the 6MT worth the extra $600, and however much it takes to go out and look at it. (about a 6 hour drive, 1 hour flight).
This is my car till i graduate college/university and get my own car. So I wanna get the most out of it and enjoy it.

convince him to get the MT cuz it gets better gas mileage and theres cheaper and IMO less maintenence
in your other post it said that your parents wont buy you another "nice car." so are they getting you another G? i would say get a beater, its going to get messed up at college anyways, trust me. I leave my G at home for the parents to use as a weekend car, and yes, i bought it, it is my car, but its their house its inside.
anyways, neither IMO is that great of deal. I got mine for 32,500 out the door for a brand new 05 with VPP deal.
also, keep in mind you had a white car, any idea of how mch maintenence a black car is when it comes to cleaning???

Yaa well they finally gave in to getting me another G. I think they thought we would have the pay for the totaled cars. Once they called the insurance and they said otherwise they were ok about it then. I just finished my first year of college and I kept my car nice and clean. Cleaned it allll the time to make sure it was never dirty so that wont be a problem
As for price what do you think I should be looking at?

600 dollars more for a 6-speed..........and 9,000 miles less?
how is this in any way shape or form a question?
I dont know about you, but I would def. pay 600 bucks to roll my car another 9000 miles without having to think twice.
IMHO, get the manual. Pay 100.00 for the one way plane ticket to fly out yourself, and/or with your dad, have it inspected at a reliable shop, and drive it home if everything checks out. The few hour drive will give you a good opprotunity to familiarize yourself with the new car as well.
Manual is more driver-oriented, so it will give you less time to be careless and not pay attention to the road, it will also give you more control over your vehicle, hopefully lowering your chances of wrecking this car as well (I didnt read your other thread on how you wrecked your first g)
And since you will be drving this until you graduate, this will probably be your last chance to drive a stick and enjoy it and have it still be practical....

tell the guy you want him to pay for an inspection, if it checks out, negotiate with benjamins, trust me, it works. You could always ask another member on g35driver to go out and check the car for you before you pay the money to fly out just to be turned down. BTW, VPP price for a 2005 G when i bought it was 27-29 for one used for 6000 miles. Tell him to do better.
doesn't matter if you wash your car every week, still going to get swirls and trust me, unless you have time to show your car love it will show the swirls. you NEED polish, pads, a pc, and good sealent. Take note that driving it back from AZ, i would suggest buying a nose mask in advance or bringing painters tape.
