Well, i always see ppl asking if we can beat newer model gts and i also had the same question. I raced a black gt moded gt tonight.I know it was moded because i saw a tach and some gauges inside his car.race him once on a row from 2nd gear and i was ahead about 1 1/2 cars and even switched to his lane to **** him off. we got to a stop sign and raced from a roll in 1st gear i pulled probably close to 2 cars.threw the hazards and turned around because i missed my turn..i'm proud of my auto G.His gf was in the car too, so i feel even better..haha.

 

Nice kill...I raced a modded new GT and it was neck and neck the whole way.

First of all, good job. Two nights ago I kind of raced a new accord coupe V6 and barely beat it by a cars length before our 2 lanes became 1. Anyways after I beat it the accord owner high beam me for pretty much the next 2 blocks, so I decided to go 5MPH for about the next 2 minutes, but what bother me the most was that my girlfriend next to me keep telling me why did I race that guy because our car was just suppose to win, so it kind of made me fell very stupid. Well, I guess she is right, the accord have nothing to lose because if he lose, then he was suppose to because our car have more power and if he won, then his going have the bragging rights. Anyways, my point is that even with the GT mustang we are suppose to win, so the GT mustang actually have nothing to lose. Its kind of like our G-coupe taking on a corvette and the G-loses, but we would not fell bad because the corvette has more HP and was suppose to win. I did not look at it this way until my GF told me.

Anyways, I glad you represented our G-coupe.

funny thing is that when i raced him the first time from 2nd gear, i had my ac on to defrost my winshield, but i was still able to pull enough ahead to cut over to his lane.i had my vdc off by the way.He might have been an auto, but it sure looked like a tach.I think he just cant drive.

though it sounds more like he couldn't drive... a 2001 mustang gt pulls a flat 14 through the 1/4 (per motortrend) @ 100mph... wonder what his mods were. ah well........ i hate mustangs

My opinion is, maybe he wasn't pulling hard enough. Sometimes this happens, he could have been driving much harder than the other guy, and that's probably where the difference could have been. The other night, a mustang pulled behind me at a light. And I'm really new at driving manual, so I put it in first gear and I was going really slow, so slow he almost hit my car, and when I saw that I slammed it into 2nd so hard that my tires sorta spun out for a mili-second and when I looked back, he was a good 4 to 5 cars behind me. And yes, I HATE mustangs...lol

 

i think he probably just had a k&n filter and some indiglo gauges.

 

what year was the mustang? the latest mustangs, with a good drive should edge out the G35.
btw the hazzard signal thing is a pretty gay thing to do.

NO they DON'T.
2000+ GT auto run high 14s and manual run the low to mid 14s stock.

 

I've seen a 2002 GT run 14.0 bone stock. It happens to belong to a friend of mine, and I watched him run it at Englishtown.

Heck, even the magazines list 14.0 for the newer Mustang GT. They are not slow compared with a G35.
