Mod's Cost Too Much!!

I have been saving up some side money for a couple weeks now and I had a little over $800 saved for my car. The money was strictly for an exhaust (proabably Fujitsubo), but I convinced myself to at least wait until Spring, when this crappy weather dies down.

So to appease my appetite, I bought some simple mods for my car.

Clear Corners = $55
Clearance and CC LED Lights = $45
Fog Lights = $30
Aluminum Pedal = $85
Splash Guards = $140
Tein Springs = $155
Spring Installation = $150
Alignment = $50

Which leaves a grand total of less than $100 for my exhaust.
Looks like I'm going to have to start over again. :sigh:

The Mod Bug had officially bitten me.

hm...if i do the math correctly, i think this is a better deal than the exhaust.

imagine 8 for 700 vs 1 for 800, i will take 8 for 7 bills anyday. hehehhe

Exhaust is cool don't get me wrong, but I think there are better things to spend your $ on up front. Pretty crazy spending that kind of coin to get a bit back in hp. I did some appearance things and an Injen to start and that's been good for me for now. All depends on your hierarchy of needs I guess..

Agreed...I'm looking to spend over $4500 over the next month or so. That's just for Cat's, Exhaust, Wheels & new tires. Good thing I'm getting my tax return & bonus within two weeks of each other. Wheels are waaaay too overpriced.

I've been bitten by the "cheap" mod bug recently. In the last month or so, I got:

K&N filter: $45
7 wire grounding kit: $85
Clear Corners: $62
Wedge bulbs for clear corner & clearance light: $34
Aluminum pedals: $100 (4 pedals)
Genuine nismo license plate frame: $35

They didn't feel like too much money individually, but I guess they add up. I'm probably going to buy some new fog light bulbs to better match the HID headlight. Hopefully that will be the end of the mods...

Just add an intake on there for another $100-200 and you will be set. I think that the exhaust can come later since you will see HP gains with a new Intake, and handling gains with new springs, with cosmetic appeal with the pedals, clear corners, etc.... Def do that before the exhaust IMO.

I already have an Black Injen CAI. I'm trying to look for really cheap mods right now. Does anyone know of any?

How much does a clear bra cost?

I think you did the right thing. It's not like the exhaust on our car is one you HAVE to get rid of right away. It still sounds pretty damn sick.

Nismo Chrome or Black shift knob (about $50). The matching Titanium one goes for about $140 so I went with Chrome and it looks great. I was thinking about an exhaust as well, but after the Z-tube and Pop Charger, I have plenty of sound. Other cheap stuff I have are Nismo (fake) oil cap for $8 and Nismo (real) radiator cap for $26 and grounding kit $75.

Dr. Jim - you are a doctor for goodness sake. Anesthesiologist make great money. You could have opted for the Titanium shift knob at least! LoL.

Btw, how much did you clear bra cost? Where did you get the hypergrounding kit for so cheap?

Thanks
