What's the thing that will get you to buy an '05?
 

For me, the choice between getting the '04 in June vs. the '05 in Sept (guessing) will be the following things:

1) Upgraded high end stereo, or easily switched out low end stereo rather than the Bose which does not sound like it should be $900 MORE than the lower end model, and is a big PITA to switch out for a double din. And I still can't believe they have a freaking TAPE DECK in the '04. Ugh! What a waste of space.

2) Rear spoiler. If all '05s come with the factory rear spoiler, i may go '04. I'm not much of a fan, and I really like the Data spoiler much better.

3) 3rd year quality. Just knowing that there should be less rattles in a newer model overall may push me slightly.

4) Interior. I'm not a huge fan of volume buttons, or the feel of the current interior. Maybe stemming from my home stereo knowledge, but rocker switches seem cheaper to be than a nice sturdy knob.

5) Price. If the '05 is substantially more expensive, I may go with the '04.

The pull of the 280hp now is plenty for me in the usual day to day traffic. An extra 20 as rumored would be nice, don't get me wrong, but definitely isn't a deal breaker.

of course, the above is all based on the info floating around this site. What are other's thoughts? What will get you to go '05 instead of the '04 you have your eye on/on order?

An upgrade to the sound system would be nice. However, they MUST do something about the location of the seat controls, or make it so they don't press into my leg. I drive 20-30k miles per year, so it must be a comfortable seat.

If they don't make the seat change, its' a TL A-spec for me. If they do, hello DG / Willow!

for me will be the 20hp increase and the redesign of interior (including the auto seats)

i dont' care much for the exterior change, since i am going to get aftermarket parts anyways....

05 350Z Track? Complete interior redesign including new seats, dash, doors. Lighter weight for the size of the car perhaps? I'm happy with my 04 Gcoupe. =)

I was just at Infiniti.com and in the lower left hand corner of the photo's page there is a small link, about 1" in size that says April 8. April 8 is the New York Auto show. The Link showed two sketches of the G35 Coupe, exterior and interior. Have a look Sixsix

exterior redesign.....only thing that will get me to get an 05'. Im happy with my first edition. Seats feel great and car really moves. What more do you need?

A completely redesigned interior would mean completely redesigned rattles.

sixsix that interior isn't from the G. Its the interior from the Qx. Look how huge it is.

1. Fewer rattles
2. Less road noise (engine and exhaust are great as-is)
3. Projector headlights. Stock reflectors suck.

I'd seriously consider trading up my 2 month old '04 for the above.

Infiniti would have to somehow erase the concept of sales tax and the 25% depreciation that we all took when we bought them. We'll never recover that and as soon as you sign on the bottom line it becomes a used car and worth 75% of what it was just 10 seconds before. Not to mention paying dealer profit twice. For the $10k it would cost, it would have to fly (literally).

Sorry to say but I've had mine 2 weeks and I'll have to wait for the 2008 :( .

My mistake, The interior pic followed the exterior pic of the coupe, I simply assumed that it was. Sorry.
