3 Days only, and got pulled over already!!
 

Just picked up my new Diamond Graphite coupe (prem, nav, xm) and already got pulled over yesterday!! The State Trooper was hiding on the bottom of the hill, and since I'm breaking in my car, I'm trying to vary my speed and RPM. I "tapped" the gas on 4th, shifted to 5th to let it cruise, and I was already doing 75mph right when I zipped by the State Trooper here in NY... I really wasn't trying to speed and more really just trying to break in my car, but the cop was really cool and just gave me a warning since he saw the car was new and registered just 3 days prior. =) He just reminded me that the speed limit was 55mph... and left with a "nice car". =D

So, I decided it's time to get a new radar detector... I got the new Escort Passport 8500 X50 today. Just FYI, if you call sales directly @ 800-433-3487, you get FREE shipping and no sales tax. at least its not two in one day :) $180 and $140. FIirst time they got me for $50 on the seat belt, second time they weren't so lucky.

LoL it took me 45 mins to get pulled over in my coupe. Pickecd it up from the dealer and I remember thinking damn this thing is quiet at 80+ then Bam state trooper. He cut me a brake and let me off with a seatbelt ticket instead of a speeding one. In fact i've been oulled over 3 times for speeding in this car and only got one ticket. And the one I did get was dismissed in court.

this is sort of off-topic here but aren't all passport 8500 software upgradable. i thought that it was one of its features. perhaps the extra $30 was for up to date programming?

I was pulled over sometime before I even got my plates for doing 53 in a 25 and he let me go. These cars must be good luck. I bet the 350z's are that lucky.

I got a speeding ticket in my dad's Navigator a day before I got my friggin' coupe.[img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img] So I immediately bought a V1 in part to remind myself to pay more attention to my driving speed. It's easy to forget how fast you're going in a big SUV, much less in a sports coupe.

Yep, me too. I haven't been pulled over yet, but cops have been paying more attention to my car since I got it recently.
What is it about new sports cars?
I think cops, like fish, are just naturally attracted to shiny things that move fast.

I got pulled over at 6:30AM on my way to work for going "80" on the freeway. He was a dic% and gave me a speeding ticket, even though I asked for a warning and was being super nice.
