I'm a n00b
Hello to all. I'm new to the site as well as owning a G35. I just bought a 2004 Black G35 coupe 5AT. I'm looking at doing some mods and wanted everyone's opinion.
I went down to a local shop here in the panhandle of Florida and got some prices on 20in rims. I looked at a brand called Ruff and was told $1650 for 20 in black with a chrome interior lip. That would come with Falken tires and be 8.5 in wide on all 4 tires. For $200 more I could get the tires in the back to 10in. I also checked with another audio shop and wanted to see about getting a DVD flipout. They told me that I would have to put a custom piece in made specifically for the G35 coupe because I wouldn't be able to use a standard screen from best buy or whatever. Please bare with me. I really want to make the right mods and i'm just starting, any HELPFULL info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Ruff wheels have terrible quality-control from the factory. You get what you pay for. In my case, my G being a daily driver, I didn't want to spend a fortune on rims I might inadvertenly damage or not be able to properly maintain all the time.
Regardless, I think my rims look great. I purchased them from VQMotoring, which is located down in Sunrise, Florida. While they screwed up my initial order, they are in the process of making everything right (the owner has been very responsive). While it is, indeed, a headache, I would still recommend VQ because my problem was a result of deviations between batches of wheels from the Ruff factory. Even if you have a problem, they'll work to make it right. Plus you don't have to wait months to get them! Oh and if you go with Sevas, I'd try their new forged line. Their non-forged wheels seem to be prone to damage. |
