my wife thinks i'm a bit obsessed with my coupe since i don't let her drive it unless i'm too drunk. but, i never let her take it out by herself. who here doesn't let their wife drive their coupe either? am i the only one?!?!?!

If I had a penny for every time I've read a post about a wife thinking a guy was too obsessed with his G... I'd probably have about a buck, but still...

actually, my wife also thinks i need a life since i'm always on the forum. so, she wanted me to post this because she doesn't believe me that it is normal. it's my proof to her so she will leave it alone.

Eh, I can't say the same as I'm only 19, but I can tell you that my dad pays for my car and he's not allowed to touch it.

Oh yeah, and every time I park at my school, I make sure the front of the car is close to the curb, but not touching it. And when I walk away, I always take that second glance. I have 8,200 hard-driven miles on my G and counting...

I won't let my husband drive my coupe, and he thinks I am obsessed. I look back to check on my G more than once when I am walking away.

I let my wife drive it every once in awhile. Keeps us both happy, you know? I also stare at it while walking away from it. DG has such a beautiful kick off the california sunshine. Anyway, I'm pretty anal about the car, keeping it clean, not letting people eat/drink in it, making sure they close the door/get in and out carefully, and etc., but honestly, it's a car, a very very sweet car, but a car nonetheless. I could lose it tomorrow, still have my life, my wife, and still be happy.

Me 30 no GF- no WIFEY Yet ...so only myself and whoever else isn't drunk is allowed to drive it...I do that 2nd look when I park and I when I come back to the car I look for car dings...first week I had it...some FOCKERknicked the edge of my bumper by the license plate...Good thing for WHITE OUT!

17. Mom can't drive stick. I do let my dad drive it. None of the girls I've been interested in has ever asked to drive it. MT is a great thing sometimes. =)

My wife keeps "threatening" to come on here and ask the following...

"How can you spend so much time talking about cars? OOH I drive fast, OOH I spend too much money on stupid 'go fast stuff', OOH I love my car, OOH I have a 'bra' and I'm a guy so I put it on my car..."

anyway I told her to do it and watch the responses. You'd have the older, married guys laughing hysterically, and the younger guys would eat her alive and make her cry (then I'd get pissed off)... I thought it would be funny, but I told her that she'd have to sign up under her own account (got to protect my rep).

Fortunately, to date, she hasn't done that yet, but I may have to make her read this thread...

I got the car as a graduation gift (college, not HS). I had to buy my mom an FX for her b-day because she kept asking to drive MY G! Now when I ask to drive her FX, she understands what it feels like.

I'll let my wife drive my car but she prefers not to because she doesn't want to take the chance of something happening.

I offered to teach her but she refused. I got lucky - I married a woman who just doesn't like to drive. [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]
But yeah, me too, like the rest of you: Always take a second look as I walk away from my car, always park far from civilization, always yell at people who slam the door, never park on the street (parallel park), never rev the engine when its cold, and the list goes on and on..... but on the other hand, I always make sure to redline it at least once a day... it's like vitamins...[img]/w3timages/icons/cool.gif[/img]

I've had the coupe for 1 yr, 4 months and the wife has driven it once down to the store. She did very well, since her previous cars were 91 RX-7 5mt, 93 Acura Legend Coupe 6mt, and 98 Z3 5mt.
Now she wants to try out the drag strip!

I was thinking of getting a light flywheel & clutch, this may be the perfect opportunity to get one, after she burns the stock one up.
(just kidding honey)
